Sharjah's Shees Park offers a delightful respite from the hustle and bustle of city life
[Shees Park Sharjah](https://wasila.ae/wadi-shees/) is a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Located on the corniche, with panoramic views of the Gulf of Oman, the park offers visitors an idyllic spot to unwind after work or during their weekends. The park was inaugurated by H.H.
At least 200 men, women and children gathered at Al Shamsi Plaza in Khorfakkan, Saturday afternoon to witness 'Shees Park' opening ceremony. The event was hosted by His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The park, which covers an area of 825000 square meters, is situated along Coastal Road in Khorfakkan.
The park features an amphitheatre, playgrounds for children, jogging tracks and an open-air theatre. There are also several picnic areas located throughout park as well as horse riding facilities. Further amenities include an indoor swimming pool and gymnasium for those who wish to keep fit. The facility is also home to several cafes which serve refreshments along with shisha (water pipe).
The park is divided into five sections—Heritage Garden, Family Garden, Nurture Garden, Cultural Garden and Children’s Learning Center. The Heritage Garden features sculptures representing traditional activities such as fishing, farming and falconry. The area is landscaped to attract birds native to Sharjah’s coastal habitats. The Family Garden has been designed with curved pathways leading visitors through an array of trees, plants and flowers interspersed with interactive games.
