Senior Software Engineer (Remote)

At [Bolt Labs](https://boltlabs.tech), we believe everyday users have a right to privacy and our mission is to enable privacy-preserving protocols on top of cryptocurrencies.

To achieve this, we are building **zkChannels**: a chain-agnostic, anonymous off-chain protocol for unlinkable payments using advanced cryptographic techniques. For example, zkChannels allow customers to transact privately with Bitcoin and other currencies without revealing their payment history or identity to a merchant. We believe zkChannels will become a new standard for security and privacy in online services compatible with existing web architectures and emerging privacy regulations like GDPR.

Position
===
We are looking for an experienced software developer to join our team. The scope of your work will require familiarity with applied cryptography, distributed systems, and anonymity-preserving network protocols (e.g., Tor). You will be expected to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software. You will have a chance to work with a world-class team of scientists and engineers in the field.

**IMPORTANT NOTE**: **At this time, we are not looking for full stack developers or frontend web developers. If you are such a developer, please do not apply for this role.**

Qualifications
===
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
* Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing and operations.
* Experience with one or more general purpose languages: Rust, Go, C/C++, and/or Python.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills and can collaborate effectively.
