To edit this document you can choose between **edit mode, view mode or split display mode**, by clicking on these icons at the top of the screen : ![](https://i.imgur.com/psakTJa.png) :::info 📸 We will ask you to add a lot of **images** in this document, don't panic, [it's very simple](https://hackmd.io/s/features#Image-Upload): - You can upload an image simply by clicking on the picture button in the toolbar - Alternatively, you can **drag-n-drop** an image into the editor. - Even **pasting images** is possible! ::: *** # P1. Prototype! :::info The goal of this phase is to define & materialize 3 relevant product proposals according to the subject given. ::: :::danger Your prototype must be a physical object : diagrams, images, drawings and 3D files etc. will not be considered as prototypes. ::: ### Ressources Here is a short list of useful websites and softwares for prototyping things. :::success - [instructables.com](https://www.instructables.com/): A great website with tutorials for (almost) everything - [makezine.com](https://makezine.com/projects/): A well known magazine with tons of cool projects - [thingiverse.com](https://www.thingiverse.com/) The world's largest 3D printing commmunity, with loads of projects - [hackaday.com](https://hackaday.com/): If you are a bit hacker or want to become one, this site is for you! - [wikifab.org](https://wikifab.org/wiki/Accueil): Just like instructables, but *en français* - [Slicer](https://apps.autodesk.com/FUSION/en/Detail/Index?id=8699194120463301363&os=Win64&appLang=en) : A software to convert 3D models (.stl files) into laser-cutted slices, a great tool to build cardboard objects. - [Make a box](https://makeabox.io/) : A website to create boxes that can be laser cutted - [Makercase](http://www.makercase.com/) : Another laser cutted boxes website - [templatemaker.nl](https://www.templatemaker.nl/) : To create quiclky paper objects. - [Sculptris](http://pixologic.com/sculptris/) : A 3D sculpting tool, a fun way to create 3D models for 3D printing or laser cutting. - ... ::: ## Define & prototype 3 proposals ### Proposal n°1 : Connected Watch (with GPS included in it) ##### Actors :::warning - FOR WHOM? **Our solution is made for people that have to get to one point quickly and avoid traffic no matter what mode of transport they are using.** - BY WHO? **We are four students that are willing to make your everyday life easier by creating a cheap, intelligent and efficient solution to your problems. We are Mehdi, Lisa, Océane and Max, ready to help you!** - WITH WHOM?**In order to make this solution successfull we need the help of other actors as GPS companies/satellites (NAVSTAR)/Governments... We can also talk about applications like Google Map/Uber/Lime/CityMapper..** ::: ##### Context :::warning - WHY? **We want to change the way people use connected objects in order to consult the different means of transport that can get them from point A to point B as quickly as possible. But also, depending on the means of transport used, artificial intelligence will suggest to them which paths to take, indicating if they use a bicycle for example heartbeat, the calories burned depending on the person. Moreover, if a user uses a car for example it will be possible for us with a bluetooth connection with the car in question to obtain information.** - WHEN? **It could be used whenever you want.** - WHERE? **It could be used wherever you want if there is a satellite knowing your location and its plan (streets/avenues...).** ::: ##### Features :::warning - WHAT? **This solution allows its users to have a better apprehension of the traffic in progress as well as a better access to the information relating to the mode of transport use such as the waiting time, the current problems in a bus/metro line, availability of bicycles/scooters around you, problems directly related to your vehicle (if you own a car with a bluetooth option etc.** - HOW? **This connected watch with an innovative technique and outstanding artificial intelligence will allow users to have access to information from all applications relating to the proper functioning of your connected watch. Indeed, in order to know the most Fast modes of transport in order to take you to your X point, our connected watch will use in real time the information of several applications such as Google Maps as well as Über (for bikes/scooters) and other applications... A "health" function will let you know as on the iphone app your heart beat/calories burned/kilometer traveled (per day/week/month/year).** ::: ##### Usage scenario Describe use cases How will users access your service? Describe quickly the usage scenario, and add a drawing for each steps : :::warning **Initial context:** *You are a student in Paris, young and active, you like to do sport and travel around your town. But let's not forget that as a student, first you don't have that much money, but also you want to win time as much as possible! The watch is here to respond to all of your demands to facilitate your daily issues.* ::: :::warning **Action 1:** ![](https://i.imgur.com/Tulz65P.jpg) *Of course, we are here talking about a connected watch, it gives the hour.* ::: :::warning **Action 2:** ![](https://i.imgur.com/yjkVkgd.jpg) *As a connected watch it gives you advices about your health. Indeed, the white point is a way to calculate different things about your health such as the pulse, analysis the sleep frequency and advise you about what type of exercise you should do depending on different health factors.* ::: :::warning **Action 3:** ![](https://i.imgur.com/daHCqax.jpg) *And finally, the transport option which links different factors. Indeed, the watch has the ability to know in what context you are. You just have to enter your destination and it will calculate for you the best route respecting of course your health, your wallet, and your time.* ::: :::warning **Resolving situation:** *We linked our subject to the problem of transportation of students in France for example, the watch will have an impact on the health of the students and even more, advise him to choose the best route! The traveller has all of what he needs in the same application to circulate by an easier way* ::: ##### Benchmark List concurrents and relative projects and describe how they relate or differentiate to your project :::warning * The watch: we created a connected watch which will hekp you in all your travel. If you want to go to a point A to a point B, it will calaculate all your possibilities, compare them and propose if you want the fastest, the cheapest or else. When you made your choice it will also connect to the platform you choose and will give you indication about it. If you are in a car it will help you with the level of gasoline or anything else. ##### Ressources We are expecting existing tutorials that can help you to materialize your proposal. You can search on youtube.com, instructables.com, thingiverse.com, etc. :::warning * reference name, link, how is it linked to your project * reference name, link, how is it linked to your project * ... ::: *** ##### Prototype description :::danger Your prototype must be **a physical object** : images, drawings, diagrams and 3D files will not be considered as prototypes. ::: Describe here the materials and tools you've used to build your prototype. You can use rough materials, such as paper, cardboard, clay, lego or repurpose existing objects. :::warning - cardboeard - ribbon - scotch ::: ##### Prototype pictures Insert at least one main picture and two detail pictures of your prototype. :warning: **Drawings, illustrations and other images are not allowed.** :::warning Drag-n-drop 3 pictures below : ![](https://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2020/14/2/1585659989-img-1012.jpg) ![](https://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2020/14/2/1585660045-img-1010.jpg) ::: ##### Prototype video Use your smartphone to make a short video (30s) showing your prototype in use, and post it on the Slack channel of your group. * * * ### Proposal n°2 : Carpooling app ##### Actors :::warning - FOR WHOM? **Our target is students living in rural areas or in environments where transport logistics or availability are reduced.** - BY WHO? **We are four students that are willing to make your everyday life easier by creating a cheap, intelligent and efficient solution to your problems. We are Mehdi, Lisa, Océane and Max, ready to help you!** - WITH WHOM? **In order to make this solution successfull we need the help of other actors as GPS companies/satellites (NAVSTAR)/Governments... We can also talk about applications like Google Map or any location/satellite app.** ::: ##### Context :::warning - WHY? **We have noticed and we also know that, despite the fact that France, among others, is a developed country, its transport logistics are not always developed throughout the country. Our solution is designed to help students living in small towns or outside of large cities who are having difficulty reaching their schools.** - WHEN? **Anytime.** - WHERE? **Mainly in rural areas where/and in areas where transport is scarce or does not serve users well.** ::: ##### Features :::warning - WHAT? **To overcome this problem, we have devised an application to send a signal/notification to people in your surroundings who have a means of transport (car, motorcycle...) and who are nearby. This app will allow students looking for ways to get to their schools with volunteers who are travelling the same route as them and who want to bring them closer to their destination or drop them off.** - HOW? **Once the signal is initiated by the user, all other users with this application and within a defined scope will receive a notification. Thus, users in the same path where near to the user who sent the signal will be able or not to accept its signal directly on the application. A geolocation system will provide real-time information on where the two are located, allowing for better communication and use.** ::: ##### Usage scenario Describe use cases How will users access your service? Describe quickly the usage scenario, and add a drawing for each steps : :::warning **Initial context:** *You are a student and you don't have any driving licence or even a car, or you just do not prefer to use it. The problem is that you want to move but you live in the suburb and it is complicate to depend on the transports proposed. This app will help the students to see other alternatives to moove around.* ::: :::warning **Action 1:** ![](https://i.imgur.com/JGCrRgR.png) *This application will permit you (the studient) to move around and this by an easy way, connect on the app, just see if another user is around and ask him to bring you as close as possible to the place, faster then it could be by transports* ::: :::warning **Action 2:** ![](https://i.imgur.com/mAH78ok.png) *Who says carpoolings always think about its dear planet! Indeed the app will be able to show you how the carpooling that you took impacts the planet by an ecological way.* ::: :::warning **Action 3:** ![](https://i.imgur.com/m62tEe8.png) *All of these services are free and of course, permits the proximity with others.* ::: :::warning **Resolving situation:** *A "normal" student who wants to move around, now can with our application. Indeed, it includes all parts of the country such as the suburb so all the students are concerned, moreover, it is totally free.* ::: ##### Benchmark List concurrents and relative projects and describe how they relate or differentiate to your project :::warning * Uber, or VTC, pemits to people to moove around and this by the same process of demand, on an app, but it still has its price, here is the difference. * Blablacar, carpooling service, permits people to travel easier and with small prices but, we are different with the timing. Indeed blablacar requires an early reservation, where we do not, it is instantaneous. ::: ##### Ressources We are expecting existing tutorials that can help you to materialize your proposal. :::warning - piece of paper to show the icon - the rest should be on AdobeXd ::: ##### Prototype pictures Insert at least one main picture and two detail pictures of your prototype. :warning: **Drawings, illustrations and other images are not allowed.** :::warning Drag-n-drop 3 pictures below : ![](https://i.imgur.com/exemple.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/exemple.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/exemple.jpg) ::: ##### Prototype video Use your smartphone to make a short video (30s) showing your prototype in use, and post it on the Slack channel of your group. *** ### Proposal n°3 : All transports Pass ##### Actors :::warning - FOR WHOM? **Our target are mainly students because our solution is attractive. Indeed, our solution will be affordable for students.** - BY WHO? **We are four students that are willing to make your everyday life easier by creating a cheap, intelligent and efficient solution to your problems. We are Mehdi, Lisa, Océane and Max, ready to help you!** - WITH WHOM? **We believe that our solution could be viable if organizations such as SNCF, for example in France, RATP, applications such as Uber/Lime/Ubeeqo could collaborate with our product in order to make their service more accessible through our card that would combine all these services with a package.** ::: ##### Context :::warning - WHY? **We think that for students the price of car rental services, scooters, bicycles/navigo card etc. are sometimes too expensive for some students. Indeed, in some cases the use of scooters or bicycles may be the quickest solution in order to reach its arrival point, however the price rises very fast and this is not necessarily very profitable for the user. We believe that if we manage to combine all these transport services through a single physical as well as digital map the lives of students could change.** - WHERE? **Our card would work everywhere but especially in spaces with a metro, services of "rental" of scooter or car per hour.** ::: ##### Features :::warning - WHAT? **Our map would be like a navigo map grouping all the available services of means of transport from the metro to the car rental (to the/scooter/bike etc. It will offer easy and less expensive access to these modes of transport for students among others.** - HOW? **The use of this card is very simple, with the help of terminals it will suffice to pass it over or with your phone to scan the terminal or to pass it over as your credit card.** ::: ##### Usage scenario Describe use cases How will users access your service? Describe quickly the usage scenario, and add a drawing for each steps : :::warning **Initial context:** (insert drawing here) *As a student you want to use some transports installations proposed in Paris such as Velib, Lime, Cityscoot for example to win time sometimes or even enjoy the experience, but the problem is that it requires times to suscribe, pay, put informations on the website and others... It can be convinient and even brake you, but this pass is here to facilitate these actions. Having only one pass for everything gives you the opportunity to have no excuses to try it and be faster or others in your movements.* ::: :::warning **Action 1:** ![](https://i.imgur.com/LKc8KOR.jpg) *The pass permits you to be identificate in a second, you will not have to type anything, just pass your pass!* ::: :::warning **Action 2:** ![](https://i.imgur.com/LbCHJk9.jpg) *This pass is a way to pay your travel and this, faster then traditionnaly.* ::: :::warning **Action 3:** ![](https://i.imgur.com/GWyKM9M.jpg) *The pass is connected to an app that will advise you, show you which of the transports are available next to you.* ::: :::warning **Resolving situation:** *If we ask to a student today why he doesn't use the transports proposed by the city of Paris, he could answer us that it is a bit long to configurate, hard to understand, that he/she doesn't know where to find it. This pass is the occasion for a student to enjoy the different types of transports, without any brake. It is now easy to access to these services. Moreover, the demand of each of the transports will increase.* ::: ##### Benchmark List concurrents and relative projects and describe how they relate or differentiate to your project :::warning * project name, link, how is it linked to your project * project name, link, how is it linked to your project * ... ::: ##### Ressources We are expecting existing tutorials that can help you to materialize your proposal. You can search on youtube.com, instructables.com, thingiverse.com, etc. :::warning * reference name, link, how is it linked to your project * reference name, link, how is it linked to your project * ... ::: * * * ##### Prototype description :::danger Your prototype must be **a physical object** : images, drawings, diagrams and 3D files will not be considered as prototypes. ::: Describe here the materials and tools you've used to build your prototype. You can use rough materials, such as paper, cardboard, clay, lego or repurpose existing objects. :::warning - cardboard - yellow paper - scotch! ::: ##### Prototype pictures Insert at least one main picture and two detail pictures of your prototype. :warning: **Drawings, illustrations and other images are not allowed.** :::warning Drag-n-drop 3 pictures below : :::![](https://i.imgur.com/czoa0sv.jpg) ##### Prototype video Use your smartphone to make a short video (30s) showing your prototype in use, and post it on the Slack channel of your group. * * * ### Choose the most promising proposal Compare the three proposals and select the one you think is the most relevant with regard to these 4 criterias: - Is this proposal relevant to the course theme? (Fix our future with digital fabrication) - Is this proposal relevant to the group's subject? - Can I materialize this proposal on a scale of 1:1 at the makers' lab? - Does my proposal respond to a real need? At the next meeting you will argue your choice with your tutor, she / he will choose the proposal you will develop in the next phases. :::warning **Give your project a name** ::: :::warning **Describe below why you selected this project:** (insert drawing here) *We selected this project because we found that it was the best idea between the 3 prototypesthat we made. Indeed, we think that it is the object which the most convinient, to facilitate the mobility, it is a good idea to follow the user during its trip (as a watch) and also to give him/her advices. Moreover, we will prototype the "base" which contributes to the adaptability of the product to all environments. * ::: * * * ### Define your dream product You and your tutor have chosen the best proposal, before testing it with users you need to refine this proposal. :::warning - What is the purpose of your product? *The idea behind our product is to facilitate the mobility and this by showing that is can be very easy and fast to go from a point A to a point B with a lot of transports. It is also showing to the user the assets of each transport.* ::: :::warning - What problem do you want to solve with it? *1) We think that today the main "problem" is the time constraint. 2)Also, the other problem is having this software EVERYWHERE you go, which is why we choose the watch, to keep it, and then, adapt it to all surfaces.* ::: :::warning - What features your product will have to achieve this objective? Rank the features in order of importance 1) We want to thin the circulation by giving specific advices depending on the type of transport. 2) We choose the watch, to keep it, and then, adapt it to all surfaces. ::: * * * ### Make a more testable version of your prototype Make a more testable version of your first prototype. :::danger Keep the first version of your prototype as is and make a brand new one. ::: Insert at least one main picture and two detail pictures of your prototype. :warning: **Drawings, illustrations and other images are not allowed.** :::warning Drag-n-drop 3 pictures below : ![](https://i.imgur.com/exemple.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/exemple.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/exemple.jpg) ::: * * * # P2. Test! :::info The goal of this phase is to improve your prototype using end-users feedback. ::: :::danger **Negative user feedback doesn't means your proposal is bad** : do not give up and analyse what are the pain points to solve in a new version. ::: ## Test and iterate your proposal ### 1. Test protocol Write below your test ptotocol : :::warning **Our ideal user profile (persona):** *Our target is kind of large. First, it has to be for student, otherwise, must of the time young people. But these students have to be interested by mobility, moving around. We need to test it with some people who used to move and use different kind of product to move such as a GPS, Google Map, Waze, the train, the bike, the motorbike or others to get a feedback from someone who has experience.* ::: :::warning **Write here the goal of your test:** *The goal of our tests is to show us evidences of things that we should improve. For exemple we missed a detail or there is one thing that is totally useless in our idea, we want to improve our idea and this with some tests and feedbacks. On this "strange" period, of course it will be hard to test things with the distance.* ::: :::warning **Describe here the main feature you want to test:** *First we would like to test the coherence to different types of vehicle such as a scooter, a car, a bike, of just a wrist. Indeed, it is a bit the specificity of our product. It is suspposed to be adapted to all types of transportation as a software of course, but also physically. We want it to blend in with the decor.* ::: :::warning **Tell who will be conducting the tests (at least two persons per test):** *We decided to turn a bit, we choose a base to do the test (Lisa) and, she will be followed by another teammate each time.* ::: :::warning **List and clearly describe all the actions that the user will have to perform to test your product according to your usage scenario:** - 1: show the prototype without anything around. - 2: show how it can be adapted to different surfaces - 3: Take it off the surface PS: these tests should be done on different surfaces. ::: --- ### 2. First test #### User 1 :::warning - Basile - 18 - Student in economy in Paris with driver's licence - 06.79.06.60.64 - basile.andre3006@gmail.com - The meeting was organized by facetime with Mehdi and Lisa as interviewer and "scirb". - 35min ::: ##### User feedback :::warning Note here at least 3 issues raised by the user: - 1: Doesn't get the point by modelizing it as a watch - 2: Not that much convenient - 3: Depends to much on the price (it has to be very cheap) ::: :::warning Note positive, neutral and negative feedback | Positive | Neutral | Negative | | --------| --------| --------| | Adapted to all surfaces| Why as a watch? Doesn't get the point| Not better then other apps| ::: :::warning Note here other comments about your meeting with the user *What do you think about our product ?* Not very convenient. *Would you buy it ?* No, I have already my phone for that. *How could it be better ?* Adapted to an other screen (such as the car's screen) *When would you use it ? Is it better for you on your car, on a scooter…?* Car, bike. *How much time would you use it per week ?* 2-3 times. *For which kind of travel ?* Moderate travel (not that long). ::: :::warning He really doesn't understand the utility of the product. It was hard for him to answer. ::: *** #### User 2 :::warning - Alexandre - 18 - Student but also delivery man for UberEat - alexandre.allie@edu.em-lyon.com - Whatsapp with camera with Max and Lisa as interviewer and writer - 25min ::: ##### User feedback :::warning Note here at least 3 issues raised by the user: - Just a watch is a better idea than an adaptator - Main ideas already exist - Not that much convenient ::: :::warning Note positive, neutral and negative feedback | Positive | Neutral | Negative | | --------| --------| --------| | Better than a GPS | Not that much convenient but still a good idea| Too many competitors on this field| ::: :::warning *What do you think about our product ?* It is a good idea but phones can do the same service today. *Would you buy it ?* No, I would think that I have already must of the services proposed on my phone. *How could it be better ?* As a watch (just a watch). *When would you use it ? Is it better for you on your car, on a scooter…?* I would use it when I use a scooter or a motorbike. How much time would you use it per week ? 1-2 times *For which kind of travel ?* Short or moderate travels. *What mode of transport do you use the most?* Train (RER) *What would make you use a new product instead of an existing one ?* In case of emmergency it is a good idea. ::: :::warning The product has to find a main quality. ::: *** #### User 3 :::warning - Alexandre-Mehdi - 20 - Student, has driver's licence - 06.59.71.38.20 - alexandremehdi.hamelin@edu.em-lyon.com - Whatsapp call with camera with Océane and Lisa as interviewers and "scrib". - 35min ::: ##### User feedback :::warning Note here at least 3 issues raised by the user: - Depends to much on the price (it has to be very cheap) - The esthetic has a big importance - The product can have problems of maintenance. ::: :::warning Note positive, neutral and negative feedback | Positive | Neutral | Negative | | --------| --------| --------| | Good and innovative idea|It can be intersting to put as mush as possible filtres|There is not that much difference with phones app sometimes ::: :::warning *What do you think about our product ?* It is a good idea to adapt evrything with the user but what is the real difference with the phone? *Would you buy it ?* No, he already has his phone. *When would you use it ? Is it better for you on your car, on a scooter…?* Car and scooter. *How much time would you use it per week ?* Everytime he needs a direction. *For which kind of travel ?* Long ones. *What would make you use a new product instead of an existing one?* There is no other product that can adapt that much. ::: :::warning The idea of a watch is risky: price esthtic details for example. ::: *** :::warning **Feedbacks and improvment** After these 3 interviews we think that we should change a bit our prototype and make it more "unique". We have to do a meeting to discuss about how we can change it, while maintaining the idea... After a group discussion we decided to change our idea, indeed, the feedbacks of the users were very interesting and we realized that we should change our idea. We finally will present a very different prototype. We based our research of "issues" on the actual situation: COVID19. We choose to do a personal handle. Indeed, the fact of touching everything is a way to transmit bacteria from ones to others, having its own handle can be a solution about that. ::: *** ## Our new project #### The purpose of our product :::warning Our product is a handle which permits you to hang on evrywhere without touching something that everybody has touched. It can permits someone to be on balance in transports such as buses, trains, without touching handles. It would be presented as an old phone with two suction cup on the two extremities. These two etremities should stick on the surface and permit you to hang on. We also thought about small leds which evaluate the surface where you want to past you handle, red for not okay, orange for okay and green for fine. ::: #### What problem do you want to solve with it? :::warning As we said earlier, the transmission of bacteria can be very easy on transports, we think that it is a big problem even more today in transport. To improve transport's experience to alls, we think that it can be a good idea to create a personnal handle so that nobody has touched it, to prevent the transmission of bacteria. It is, in a way, solving the problem of hygiene (in some words) ::: #### What features do you want to solve with it? Rank the features in order of importance :::warning - avoid being shaken by displacement - avoid bacteria from others - permit to reduce the fear and the consommation around hydroalcoholic gel. ::: Prototype of our idea ![](https://i.imgur.com/PiodL8Y.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/eBbASHt.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/jqhFSfg.jpg) sadly, because we took the decision to change a bit fast, we were not able to find/do plasticine. Let's not forget that there are 3 leds, to tell us if the surface is not okay, okay, fine. ![](https://i.imgur.com/b5iYkIJ.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/8NEvwWo.jpg) #### Test protocol :::warning **Ideal user profile** *We think that it could be intersting to test it on people who really care about it. We noticed that there are different types of people in transport, those who do not care about touching handles, and those who hate it. This product is first adressed to people who care about it. The ideal user will be them, moreover, they have to take transports (bus, train).* **The goal of our test** *The goal of our tests is to show us evidences of things that we should improve. For exemple we missed a detail or there is one thing that is totally useless in our idea, we want to improve our idea and this with some tests and feedbacks. On this "strange" period, of course it will be hard to test things with the distance.* **Describe here the main features you want to solve** *Behind this product we would like to solve problems of hygiene in transports, problems of comfort in transports (shaking problems). It could improve the transports experience and limit the transmition of bacteria.* **Tell who will be conducting the tests (at least two persons par tests)** *Lisa and Océane will be conducting the tests.* **List and clearly describe all the actions that the user will have to perform to text your product according to your usage scenario.** On this phase, the user will have to take it, put it on a surface, "stick" it, and finally hang on it. ::: #### User 1 :::warning Jade 18 Student Numero Email The meeting was done in Lisa's house with Lisa 10min ::: :::warning 3 issues raised by the user Desgusting environment Too many people Transports are too messy in Paris for example ::: :::warning Positive:Innovating, for everybody Neutral:Satisfied by this idea Negative:Too big ::: :::warning *How faddy will you define yourself about this subject from 1 to 5?* 5 *How often do you take transports?* 4 times a day *What do you think about our product ?* Very convinient, usually she takes risk by not grabbing any handle, and will let sit for other. *Would you buy it ?* Yes *How could it be better ?* Make it smaller *Where/When would you use it ?* Bus, tram, métro, rer *For which kind of travel ?* Short travels or maybe both. ::: :::warning Suggestion from Jade: possibility to stick it on your bag. ::: #### User 2 :::warning Basile 18 Student 06.79.06.60.64 basile.andre3006@gmail.com The meeting was done in Lisa's house with Lisa 20min ::: :::warning 3 issues raised by the user When there is no sit available Digusting environment Train shakes ::: :::warning Positive: Convinient, adapted to a real problem Neutral: The led are just a detail Negative: Too big ::: :::warning *How faddy will you define yourself about this subject from 1 to 5?* 3 *How often do you take transports?* 4 times a day. *What do you think about our product ?* Convinient. *Would you buy it ?* Yes (if it is not expensive) *How could it be better ?* Adapt it to all surfaces. *Where/When would you use it ?* Metro, Rer, tram When there are a lot of people *For which kind of travel ?* All types ::: #### User 3 :::warning Mélusine 19 Student 06.33.82.60.95 melusine.leberre@gmail.com The meeting was done in Lisa's house with Lisa 15min ::: :::warning 3 issues raised by the user There are a lot of people on transports. She doesn't want to grab handles because everybody touch it. Gives more space for other hands. ::: :::warning Positive: She will be clean and here handle to: no contact with bacteria. Neutral: Convinient but not essential. Negative: Too big to bring evreywhere. ::: :::warning *How faddy will you define yourself about this subject from 1 (not that much) to 5 (a lot)?* 4 *How often do you take transports?* 2 times a day *What do you think about our product ?* It is a good idea because it solves her problems, it is easier than gloves for example. *Would you buy it ?* Depends on the price, but if it worth it, she will say yes. *How could it be better ?* More convinient, make it more portable. *Where/When would you use it ?* On the RER, the Bus (because it shakes a lot) *For which kind of travel ?* All types, long, short as long as she is standing up ::: *** ### 3. Improve your prototype Insert below **at least 3 pictures** of your iteration showing your proposal evolution. :warning: **Drawings, illustrations and other images are not allowed.** :::warning Drag-n-drop 3 pictures below : ![](https://i.imgur.com/GxfKxeh.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/QwbwKXR.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/yZ2jhlh.jpg) ::: :::warning Describe the evolution of the prototype: We changed our mind a lot during this period aboutour prototype. We first wanted to do something close to a gps then we changed with this final idea: a handle to imrove the experience of people taking transports. The first idea on this prototype was to do something like an old phone with the suctiun cups, but we understood with feedback that it was too big. We tried a new prototype with salt dough but it did not work at the end: to heavy, ugly, brittle. We finally changed it with something like a stick with to suction cups on the extremities. We also insist on the ergonomic part that we just have developed. ::: ##### Prototype video Use your smartphone to make a short video (30s) showing your improved prototype in situation of use, and post it on the Slack channel of your group. *** ### 4. Second test #### User 1 :::warning Mélusine 19 Student 06.33.82.60.95 melusine.leberre@gmail.com The meeting was done in Lisa's house with Lisa 15min ::: ##### User feedback :::warning Note here at least 3 issues raised by the user: -There are a lot of people on transports. -She doesn't want to grab handles because everybody touch it. -Gives more space for other hands. ::: :::warning Note positive, neutral and negative feedback | Positive | Neutral | Negative | | --------| --------| --------| | Convinient| Maybe you could adapt the look| We have to remember to take it| ::: :::warning "You improved your first idea very well." ::: :::warning She suggests us to do something about the size of the prototype ::: *** #### User 2 :::warning Basile 18 Student 06.79.06.60.64 basile.andre3006@gmail.com The meeting was done in Lisa's house with Lisa 20min ::: ##### User feedback :::warning Note here at least 3 issues raised by the user: -When there is no sit available -Digusting environment -Train shakes ::: :::warning Note positive, neutral and negative feedback | Positive | Neutral | Negative | | --------| --------| --------| | Good look and convinient| What about the price? | No possibility to put it on our pocket| ::: :::warning Leds are not utile. ::: :::warning Improve the capacity of the suction cups. ::: *** #### User 3 :::warning Jade 18 Student Numero Email The meeting was done in Lisa's house with Lisa 10min ::: ##### User feedback :::warning Note here at least 3 issues raised by the user: -Desgusting environment -Too many people -Transports are too messy in Paris for example ::: :::warning Note positive, neutral and negative feedback | Positive | Neutral | Negative | | --------| --------| --------| | Very utile, could facilitate some of her issues| She likes it thinner | Easy to loose ::: :::warning It is a good idea ::: :::warning Add something to link it to our bag ::: * * * ### 5. Define your final product According to users feedback rewrite your requirements specification. :::warning - What is the purpose of your product? The purpose of our product is to improve the experience of anyone in transports. According to the feedbacks, we thought about an object which will help you to be less shaked by the transport, to find your balance and of course, to not share bacteria of others/we others. We think that it could really better the experience in transport today. ::: :::warning - What problem do you want to solve with it? We noticed that the main problems that users have talked (and that we can solve) were about the problem of balance in the transports. Indeed, when there are too many people it is hard to find a handle, moreover. Moreover, we found out that users really talked about the dirt of transports. It is even more understandable is this times, with the COVID-19. ::: :::warning - What features your product will have to achieve this objective? Rank the features in order of importance - first feature : consistency with a surface (suction cup) - second feature : good catch for the hand (handle) - third feature : good resistance to the pressure ::: *** # P3. Design ## Make your final prototype :::info Now that you have defined what is your best proposal it's time to make a greater version of it. You will present it to the jury during the final evaluation alongside the early prototypes made in the previous phase. ::: :::success A good prototype is self-explainatory : the user must be able to understand how it works without instructions or user manual. It must be fully functional and sufficiently strong to withstand several demonstrations in real conditions of use. ::: :::danger For this phase it is **mandatory** to use at least : - **Tinkercad** to design in 3D your product - **Tinkercad Circuits** to design the electronics - **Adobe XD** to make your prototype interactive. ::: ___ ### Ressources Here is a short list of useful websites and softwares for prototyping things. - [Make a box](https://makeabox.io/) : A website to create boxes that can be laser cutted - [Makercase](http://www.makercase.com/) : Another laser cutted boxes website - [templatemaker.nl](https://www.templatemaker.nl/) : To create quiclky paper objects that can be cutted with the laser cutter. - [Sculptris](http://pixologic.com/sculptris/) : A 3D sculpting tool, a fun way to create 3D models for 3D printing or laser cutting. - ... ::: Note in the section below all the projects and tools you've find to help you for the conception and fabrication of your final prototype. :::warning We first made a try with "salt dough", it was kind of long to prepare and, sadly, the result was not what we expected. ![](https://i.imgur.com/Zpnmb8I.jpg) It was not the look that we wanted, the coherence to different surfaces would have been hard, and we really to heavy. So we decided to change the model of our prototype. ::: :::warning * ergonomic handle, https://www.google.com/search?q=ergonomic+handle&safe=strict&rlz=1C5CHFA_enFR824FR827&sxsrf=ALeKk00RkUfIn0HU3911-1faVaZCSUo6Xg:1586934834160&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiBiMn48OnoAhWDy4UKHV4zDJMQ_AUoAXoECAsQAw&biw=834&bih=617, after reflection we thought that it could bring comfort to the object and a bit of design. * Anti-Slip Bathroom Safety Ramp , https://raton-malin.com/products/rampe-de-securite-antiderapant-pour-salle-de-bain?variant=31944593571926&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&gclid=Cj0KCQjw4dr0BRCxARIsAKUNjWSQ_9gOaEeoNcEUCu_iGTnlqO3KipcIdYkMRWpZkI9av2AFjLpEW8oaAs17EALw_wcB, we found that there was already the same concept but in bathroom for example, it gave us a bit an idea of how it could look like. ::: ### Demonstrator design #### Drawing :::info Start by taking a sheet of paper and draw the global shape of your demonstrator, then explode it into the parts that compose it and draw them one by one. ::: Drag-n-drop below the pictures of your drawings, don't forget to write a caption for each image : :::warning ![](https://i.imgur.com/igiqkbQ.jpg) Main picture : global drawing of your demonstrator So here is a global drawing of our prototype ::: :::warning ![](https://i.imgur.com/Mzw3ANj.jpg) Part 1 drawing What we call the rod with the ergonomic part. ::: :::warning ![](https://i.imgur.com/v9WK3Wc.jpg) Part 2 drawing Here is the detailed part of the suction cups inside the rod. ::: :::warning ![](https://i.imgur.com/jSvErCG.jpg) Part 3 drawing Here is the part of the 2 led to tell us about the compatibility with the surface. He will give you some technical feedback and will tell you the material you need. Do not expect the makers’ lab managers to tell you what to build! ::: ___ ### Conception - Use **TinkerCAD** to design your parts. :::warning ![](https://i.imgur.com/DXG6Sw0.png) This first screenshot of our creation shows the "ergonomic" part of the product and the two suction cups. ![](https://i.imgur.com/yZpIbT9.png) Here we can see what we could expect proportionnaly. ![](https://i.imgur.com/Ajgb83R.png) Finally we can imagine a design (from the back) a bit like this. ::: :::warning Insert here the link to your **3D design** on **tinkercad**. The protective foam is very soft, that will give a very comfy object. ::: :::warning ![](https://i.imgur.com/uuLjApB.jpg) **step two** : We are going to put tape all around the rod to give it more "holding" profil. We are going to use the knife for the next step ::: :::warning ![](https://i.imgur.com/SG9YTcK.jpg) **step three** : With the knife, we are going to make two holes to insert our two suction cups. ::: :::warning ![](https://i.imgur.com/4bWz5qp.jpg) **step four** : with some salt dough, we are going to do the ergonomic part. Okay but how? By rolling it neatly around the rod to do the handle and shaping "grab" shape. ::: :::warning ![](https://i.imgur.com/3WNUKjS.jpg) Once we did the ergonomic part, be are going to give it a real look! Let's paint it with a bomb, we choose silver as color. ::: :::warning ![](https://i.imgur.com/fjg55ty.jpg) Let's not forget our two litlle led! (Add with Arduino) We though that it was more convinient to put the leds here. PS: because of the situation, we used pins instead of the leds ::: :::warning ![](https://i.imgur.com/sSbd0Yf.jpg) After a break to make it dry, we can finally use it! ::: ##### Prototype video Use your smartphone to make a short video (30s) showing your improved prototype, and post it on the Slack channel of your group. --- # P4.
