  • Introduction In July 2023, the Ecosystem, Metagovernance, and Public Goods Working Groups published budgets that set the intended spending allocations for the term. None of these proposed budgeted amounts surpassed that of the funds that were already in their respective working group multisigs, so no voting occured to move funds to the Working Group multisigs in the beginning of the term. These charts will provide an overview of working group spending during the term. All Working Groups Combined Spending The total working group spending was $1.5m as of December 13th, 2023, utilizing month-end price equivelents for the months that ETH and ENS transactions occured. Price data was sourced from Coingecko. image

  • Great discussion so far, thanks @alisha for starting the thread. The Ecosystem Working Group is excited to run the new small grants round. There are a few items that need to be decided before this round can run. I've spoken to metagov and they have graciously agreed to lend their expertise on governance for this task. To get this across the finish line in a timely manner, the following items have to occur:

  • The purpose of the Fellowship program is to reward builders who are actively contributing to the ENS Ecosystem consistently and repeatedly. Building on the success of the pilot program last term. We modified the fellowship program to be three grants of 20,000 USDC instead of one grant of 50,000 USDC. We are excited to announce the three fellows for Term 3. ENS Fellows julieshi.eth Julie is a multiple-time hackathon winner, ENS Ecosystem builder, and leader behind ORG3. She has won prizes for her ENS-related projects at ETHSanFrancisco 2022 and ETHDenver this year. Julie's ETHSanFrancisco submission, Org3, placed in the top 10 out of over 286 teams and her ETHDenver submission, M3mber, was one of 13 finalists and went on to win the DAO category.

  • [Temp Check] Create a Grants Team to Fund New Builders on Arbitrum Constitutional / Non-Constitutional: Non-Constitutional Abstract This proposal aims to establish a dedicated Grants Team within the Arbitrum DAO to support and fund new builders and projects in the ecosystem, fostering growth and innovation. Motivation As the Arbitrum ecosystem expands, it's crucial to attract, support, and fund talented builders who can contribute to the platform's growth and success. By creating a Grants Team, the DAO can allocate resources effectively and efficiently to projects that align with Arbitrum's mission and values. Rationale

  • Ecosystem WG 2023 Term 1 Roadmap/Objectives Our Intent The intent for the ENS Ecosystem Working Group is to promote the utility and benefits of the Ethereum Name Service protocol. Slobo, Yambo, and Limes, agree that the best way to do this is promote the builders who add utility to the protocol and make ENS attractive for more builders to build on as well. A roadmap is important as it defines the criteria for success when evaluating the group down the line. To start we do the following at the start of the term: Assess the current state of the ENS ecosystem: The first step is to get a clear understanding of the current state of the ENS ecosystem. This includes identifying all the existing projects and applications that are built on top of the ENS protocol, as well as any developers or organizations that are currently working on ENS-related projects. This can be done through research and outreach to the broader Ethereum community. Identify areas of improvement: Once the current state of the ENS ecosystem has been assessed, the next step is to identify areas of improvement. What was funded last year that was good? What was bad? What is an area of ENS that is underdeveloped?

  • Establish a method of regularly converting ENS protocol revenue into a 2 year runway of working capital. Specification As of November 21, 2022, the DAO treasury has 2.5m in stables. At current burn rate, this is ~3 months of runway. This is concerning as it's important that working capital is secured to avoid having to halt operations. Future burn rate is estimated as follows: DAO Operations: $3m/yr ENS Labs: $6m/yr This proposal puts forward a vote to enact the following strategy:
