# Reading Resonse 2: Learning (September 26, 2023)
## How people learn, and what are some of the most effective learning habits that worth discovering?

To start with, I would like to say that the entire chapter discussing the effectiveness of learning has proven to be one of the most useful, and resonated materials I was able to find for the whole year!


### Here are some of the advices the reading give for efficient learning.
* Try to solve the problem before someone else give you the solution leads to better learning outcome.
* Going from all aspects in your life to solve the porblems instead of stucking into one form of thinking that you think is useful.
* A good foundation of prior knowledge will give you a better understanding of current konwledge.
* Elaboration: the process of using your own words to give definition to your knowledge.
* Putting new knowledge into a larger context helps learning.
* **Extracting key ideas and form a mental model and apply this model to prior knowledge.**

**My Struggle to study more efficiently**

Indeed students from kindergarten were been told that rereading text over and over would help in retening their memories. Among all the students who followed this advice, I was the one who found little positive feedback and yet still be doing it for years until I got to high school. Before I became more efficient in learning, I would read a single paragraph many times, and the sense of the free flow of reading these paragraphs tricks me into thinking that I had a full grasp of the material I learned. It was not until I blew my quizzes and exams every time I realized that my learning memory had been a disaster.

**Applying current knowledge to a new context** (one of the good ways to study from the reading)

A good example of applying the current knowledge to a new context would be, that I am very addicted to gym workouts, and every time I beginning of the exercises my muscles were not calibrated enough and I felt tired and lazy to continue. However while I was doing my warm-up exercises and started to connect my body with my mind to feel every stretch of my muscles, I was able to continue throughout my whole exercises. I discovered this trend and started to apply it to my learning environment. Every time I felt like I could not or didn’t want to do homework and projects, I always made sure that I finished the first two pages of readings or exercises before I decided on my next move. As I was going along with all the exercises and reading materials, I was able to find myself in peace even though the homework I was doing was not entertaining.

**Conclusion**
To end the argument, I would like to say to everyone who are struggling with their school and lives when you meet a challenge and you feel like you cannot resolve it with absolute certainty, don’t give up! Start to solve whatever problems you are facing with from a different perspective. Be creative with the way you come up with solution, and don't stuck in a certain set of strcutrual thinking because these will only lead you to a dead end when dealing with complex problems.
