"Having Friends in the Future 2020" (HFF) provides a culture exchange platform and invites multi-cultural remote participants to explore tradition and innovation. The platform is expected to continue to serve as a medium for exchanges and to foster friendships in the future. In addition to our scheduled video sharings, online discussions, exchange of swatches, we are inviting remote participants “reside” in our online residency platform. We design a format of an artist in residency to let people sharing the particular perspective in the universal lingua franca. We hope the works that come out from this exchange won’t be a collage of different techniques but a work that undergoes a translation process. The process takes into account the cultural context and the constraint/possibility of material realization.<br/>
