# Olympus 6.2 Update [ToC] ## Intro The biggest update in the history of this project is finally here! We knew about the decline in the player counts for a long time, and at one point, we have decided that one big update instead of many small updates would have a much higher chance of bringing the hype back up. And it's finally the time to release this big update. All the new features could not be explained by a simple changelog, so we decided to introduce them one by one. Our wiki is also updated to get detailed information on these new features. Let's start! ## Arena of Talents You have requested more PvP oriented activities, and AoT comes first when it comes to fun PvP activities. Though we have also implemented Caligor and Icebreaker, AoT stays special as the only strategic PvP content in the game. We are looking for ways to make things even more competitive in the Team Arena, thus, we will be collecting data from AoT that will help us getting more insight on PvP for balancing stuff later on. Not only that, but you will also see some improvements made to the AoT, such as an auto-punishing system for those who griefplay by leaving AoT mid-match. Currently the Arena of Masters is not activated, we will be bringing it once deemed necessary. Also the NPCs related to Team Arenas have been moved from Individual Arena to Arena of Glory. You can find more information about AoT on: [Arena Of Talent Wiki Page](https://wiki.olympusgg.com/guides/arena-of-talent) ## Caligor & Hero Shells We heard your concerns about how frustrating betting was. This highly RNG-related activity was too punishing for the unlucky people. Due to technical and design reasons, we decided not to implement "pity" on betting. Instead, we decided to give you an alternative to betting. We wanted to have a way to get the desirable shells with certainty, after enough grind, of course. And Caligor seemed like the best candidate for such a grind system, as it needed appealing rewards for all, and also had to be time-gated so that the shells kept their nice value. In Caligor boxes, both in the Dimming (losers') and Glowing (winners') versions, you may find a shell. The shell's rarity will be the same as the boxes', so you might get lucky with r7/r8 boxes and get a valuable shell directly from the box. If not, undesirable shells you drop from the box can be brought to the Shell Master in Citadel, Glacernon. Shell Master will help you break these shells into shell shards, and with them, you can craft the shell of your choosing. All crafted shells will be r8, as shown. You might craft Perfect/PvP Weapon/Armour shells. The crafted shells are all 100Lv., and they can only be used on Hero Equipment. These shells will have the same value rolls as normal betting, so they won't be better than the shells you get through bets. The amount of Shell Shards necessary for the shells might need readjusting later on. We will be monitoring the feedback and the economy of shells. You can find further information about Caligor, how to obtain Hero Shells and how they work on: [Caligor & Shell](https://wiki.olympusgg.com/custom-features/hero-shell-system) ## Icebreaker The infamous Icebreaker is here! It will arguably be the most sinister and chaotic form of PvP. Anything and everything is allowed there, be it potions, mounts, snacks, buff sharing... We wanted to have at least one uncontrolled and unhinged PvP activity and Icebreaker seemed the best fit. Also, the fees for joining are quite high, but the reward for winning depends on how many enemies you have defeated. It means that if you're a small group who won the Icebreaker that started as very crowded, you might leave the Icebreaker as rich! The logic of the event is as usual: kill to freeze, unfreeze to team up, kill twice to eliminate. Though this level of freedom is experimental, we will be keeping an eye on whether this event causes too much toxicity, and intervene if needed. ## Act6.2 Farming As always, we wanted to provide the most comfortable gaming experience, especially for monotone activities such as farming. Following the trend we've been observing on every Act so far, we have readjusted mobs of Act6.2 to be farmed more comfortably. We have also picked Ancelloan's Will 2 & 5 as the most common farming maps, so we increased the mob count there and put Pocket Dimensions. For abuse concerns, we have relocated the Crusaders and Elite Unknown Spirits from these maps into other maps Ancelloan's Will. On top of normal drops of the map, The Elite Spirits will drop Fernon's Raid Seal with 50% chance, and the Crusaders will drop passive books, with the same chance as official. We have also put the 4000 HP/MP books as a rare drop to the Mysterious Traveller at the new map Unknown Land, for those who have complained about the 25-day gate on them. Another big change you will notice is that we have increased by aggro limit of 5 to 10, which means easier and more comfortable lures while farming. You can access the farming guide written by our testers here: [6.2 Farming Guide](https://wiki.olympusgg.com/guides/leveling/act6-2-guide) ## Fernon Raid & Raidbox Fernon raid had some issues. It was too simple and too fast, with no real boss mechanic other than a 3-second lever pulling. This meant trouble because of how fast the raid can be done and how easy it is to be bored of it. In order to have a valuable raidbox, we had to gate Fernon raid in some ways. First and most obvious way we have done that is gating Fernon behind Caligor, so it can't be farmed 24/7. Fernon raid entrace at the Unknown Land will appear after Caligor event has ended, whether it was defeated or not. We have also played with its mechanics a bit, to make Fernon raids have a more consistent completion time. The raid might take longer than you're used to, given how fast Fernon could be done normally, but don't worry, we have compensated for this change with a more rewarding raidbox. Also we were unfortunately forced to give c45/48 equipment a lower base sale price of 5kk, as it would either make the box generate too much gold, or be too RNG-dependant like the first version of Act6.1 boxes. The box will mainly have Crystal of Balance and Mysterious Gemstone, a versatile perfection stone. We also have considered the concerns about the grindiness of certain recipes in Act6.1, and wanted to try a different design with Act6.2. Fernon Fairies will still be grindy, as they're the final fairy content ever. They require a Fernon Egg, a Zenas and an Erenia fairy to craft. [Act6 Fairies](https://wiki.olympusgg.com/guides/crafting/act-6-fairies-craft) But the mask from Fernon raid, a.k.a. Azrael's Mask, will drop directly from the raidbox. Also the equipment drops from the raidbox will be high enough so that it's accessible to all even though Fernon raids will be time-gated. ## Act6.2 Equipments The original Act6.2 equipments had some problematic effects. Not only their base stats were almost the same as previous equipments, some of the buffs that they had were too broken. So we decided to mainly balance them by removing the buffs and debuffs that they triggered, and compensated it with base stat and effect boosts. There were also little tweaks done to make them more consistent in terms of equipment progress. You can find the complete rework of these equipments on: [Act6.2 Equipment Balance](https://wiki.olympusgg.com/information/equipment-act62-rework) There is also a new generation of Major trophies: Ancelloan's Teardrop, Shadow Gem, and Chronos' Hourglass. You can find them in Mysterious Monk in-game or on: [Trophies Guide](https://wiki.olympusgg.com/custom-features/trophy-system) ## New SP Upgrades In Olympus, perfecting your SP has been way too easy and in return, everyone was so quick to get a proper +15+100 SP. This was unintended of course, as it dropped the demand for perfection stones and made the +100 SPs too common. In order to fix this drop in demand, we implemented the higher SP upgrades from Act8 in our own way. You will now be able to upgrade your SPs from +15 up to +20, using the "Divine SP Protection Scroll" sold by Travelling Merchant. The upgrades will require the usual Angel's Feathers, gold, and Full Moon Crystals. But they will also have the respective perfection stone in the materials. For example, if you want to upgrade your Wild Keeper into +16, it will require: 70 Angel's Feathers, 32 Full Moon Crystals, 1.5kk gold, and 9 Small Topaz of Perfection. The bonuses for +16 to +20 stays the same as official, but we included them in the wiki with detail since most players are not familiar with them. Of course, with this system, the demand for perfection stones will rise too much. That's why we will be introducing many new ways of obtaining them. For starters, the Fernon and Caligor raidboxes will have considerable amounts of perfection stones in them. You will also be able to farm them from Unknown Land mobs. All the previous obtaining methods for them will stick around. You can find further information of such details of this system on: [SP Upgrades](https://wiki.olympusgg.com/guides/crafting/sp-upgrade) ## Achievements We know how satisfying and fun the periodic quests can be. So we decided to add weekly and daily achievements on more activities. You now have dailies for killing mobs in a given Act, completing family dungeon, winning an Instant Combat, killing enemies in Frozen Crown, and more. There is also a weekly version of these new achievements that takes more time to complete but has better rewards. There is also new one-time achievements for new SP upgrades and Act6.2 stuff. You can see these achievements in-game through the Achievement widget. The rewards of achievements can be changed based on user feedback so please let us know what you think about them! ## Warp System We have noticed that people were attached to optimized farming and having a very rapid gameplay experience. We knew that having one single return point was kind of frustrating, and needed to be addressed. That's why we have decided to implement the Warp System. You will be able to **define** your personal warps in normal maps & pocket dimensions (no raids, no act4...) Then you can teleport back to any of these return points for as long as you don't delete them. You can have up to 5 different warp. ## SP Changes Lastly, there are a batch of SP changes that you can find on: [6.2 Release SP changelog](https://wiki.olympusgg.com/information/equipment-act62-rework#destroyer) These are a preperation for the PvP content that's brought with this big update. Just as any other batch of SP changes, these are not finalized and we're always reviewing SPs that needs readjustments. We are aware that, with more PvP content, the SP balancing task will be more relevant than ever. Your feedback is much appreciated. ## Shop & God Altar Rotations We have heard your complaints about shop rotation being not interesting enough and God's altar rotation not being transparent enough. That's why we decided to disclose all the Wings effects on [Wings Effects](https://wiki.olympusgg.com/information/wings-rework) our wiki. This updates officially unlocks all Wings and partner specialists for future rotations, which means you will see them coming __**without nerfs**__ with the shop rotations each week. We understand that our attempts to balance these items were unsuccessful and that it's not what a majority of people want. ## Outro Overall, with this update, we are catching up on the content we were missing, to give you an incentive to play and progress upon reaching end game. This is only the beginning and you can expect more content & QoL updates in a near future, act 7 is already being worked on for a while now and we have some cool QoL updates coming.
