# DAO Treasury Management Tools ## Overview We are currently evaluating Treasury Management tools for the ENS DAO to assist with the management of the DAO Treasury and individual working group Gnosis Safe Multi-sig Wallets. Utopia Labs and Parcel. These products are highly similar and leverage our current Gnosis Safe multi-sig infrastructure. ## Motivation As the ENS DAO scales, it will become necessary to automate how we track and manage our treasury, and working group multi-sig wallets. Treasury Management tooling will decrease the reliance on single individuals for coordination, reduce overhead costs, and make reporting easier. #### Decentralize Coordination These tools allow for the organization and processing of payments in a distributed way. With the use of these tools, authorized signers reduce thier reliance on manual accounting methods and tracking. Instead, they can rely on built-in databases of contributors, their verified addresses, and metadata tags to filter transaction types. Contributors are also able to submit payment requests themselves which gives them an active role in the compensation process. #### Reduce Overhead Costs The tooling options reviewed provide gasless transactions on Mainnnet, reducing the DAO's overhead costs. More importantly, the final approving signature will not need to cover the gas costs for the transactions. #### Ease of Reporting These tools both have integrations for analaytics and reporting integarations on their roadmap. Although this data can be pulled from on-chain, integrations may reduce time needed to perform these tasks by automatically generating sortable data without the need, or skill, to manually coding queries. ## Tooling ### Utopia Labs **DAOs Onboard:** FWB, Badger, PleasrDAO, Tracer, SquiggleDAO **Roadmap:** [Here](https://utopia-labs.notion.site/9892f7487e3040948cf01f59705b5878?v=b1af9bd72d16436389d3c7ad979a14c0) **Video Demo:** [Here](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BGW0hiS3rcHJZoP1sfd_PBZv8lgfTmuu/view) **Definitive Features:** Rich Roadmap. Responsive team, actively buidling. ### Parcel **DAOs Onboard:** Bankless DAO, Index Coop, Aave Grants DAO, Compound Grants, dYdX, Olympus DAO **Docs:** [Here](https://parceldocs.gitbook.io/parcel-docs/) **Video Demo:** [Here](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EgbkHn4NCVauqaOaQ0UKEmJWadKzwKP-/view) **Definitive Features:** Can decentralize operations by delegating access to permission. Signing is never delegated. Responsive team, actively buidling. Wide adoption. ### Feature Comparison | | Utopia Labs | Parcel | | --- | :----: | :---: | |CSV Import | ✅ | ✅ | |Transaction Descriptions | ✅ | ✅ | |Transaction Tagging/Metadata| ✅ | ✅ | |Free Mainnet Gas Fees | ✅ | ✅ | |Batch Payments | ✅ | ✅ | |Payment Requests | ✅ | ✅ | |Scheduled/Recurring Payments| ✅ | ✅ | |Role Assignments and Tags | ✅ | ✅ | |Analytics/Reporting | Planned | ✅ | |Delegation of Authority | ❌ | ✅ | |Cross-Chain support | Planned | ❌ | ## Decision Risk Level **Risk Level:** Low; no cost, no commmitment, and easily reverted. ## Conclusion These tools are highly similar with almost identical features. Any dissimilarity in features will likely resolve with further development. Both teams have been highly responsive via Twitter and Discord. Integration is currently at no cost to the DAO and low-risk as adoption does not "lock" us into one or the other. Each Working Group is free to choose which tool they prefer if any.
