I'm getting encoding lag on OBS, what should I try?

Triple check these settings:
- Set preset to Max Performance if you're recording in high FPS
- Only use one audio track when recording high FPS (you can lower settings to minimum if you do not use audio)
- In the Video tab make sure Base (Canvas) Resolution is the same as Output (Scaled) Resolution, if for any reason you need to do some scaling while recording, you can do it later.
- On recent NVIDIA GPU it is worth testing putting Profile to Baseline (greatly increased filesize but better encoding performance)
- Check if color format is nv12 or i420 in advanced tab
You should always:
- Run OBS as admin to let OBS set higher GPU priority
- Record on an SSD because high fps records are bitrate hungry
You can try:
- Disabling Preview (right click preview -> untick Enable Preview or set keybind)
- Try changing Window's game mode (it may increase/decrease stability depending on hadware and Windows build)
- Turning on Smooth FPS in Minecraft (lowers FPS a bit but halves Minecraft's GPU utilization) (Options->Video Settings->Performance->Smooth FPS: ON)

Pick your poison from 18 to 21, going down (less compression) give diminishing returns, going higher (more compression) is a waste

Why can't I watch H265/HEVC videos?

If you're using Movies & TV, it's because you need to pay a dollar to get the extension, we strongly suggest you get MPV.net

What should I use to interpolate? RIFE or SVPFlow?

RIFE is supported by Flowframes, and blur(not fully tested), it should be used when the input footage is at a low FPS (less than 240FPS)
SVPFlow is supported by blur and is much faster than RIFE, but the frames it creates are not as accurate, so I'd only recommend using it with input clips that already have above 240FPS
ffmpeg's minterpolate if you don't have a decent gpu (must be divided manually or with scripts)

:obs: Why is OBS taking so much of my CPU (50+%)

That's probably because you're recording with the x264 encoder, which uses your CPU. It's strongly recommended to use nvenc/amd amf/quicksync (your gpu's encoder) to record

:vegas: Why can't I import clips above 240/300FPS+

Try updating your Nvidia drivers to a newer version, try enabling/disabling legacy AVC decoding in Preferences -> File I/O

:vegas: Why does Vegas say my video is 240FPS in Project Properties even though it's actually higher?

It visually caps at 240FPS but unless you have some 1K+FPS clips you'll be fine.

Why is my clip laggy?

Enable the Stats dock in OBS to check your skipped frames to see if your encoding is struggling.
Sometimes it's just your video player lagging, I strongly recommend using MPV instead of Movies & TV.

Why does my VLC clip look corrupted?

Your file may look extremely weird and corrupted if you're trying to watch a very high FPS video on your PC, most of the time it's not the clip but your pc that can't keep up with playing it. If your clip is in x265 VLC will most likely make it play corrupted

I'm struggling to run a PowerShell script

You need to be on Windows 10 and use the Run window (that you can open by pressing Win + R) and pasting the command in

Why are all my textures corrupted?

This is due to Threaded Optimization in the NVIDIA control panel, go in 3D settings and disable it.

My script is frozen?

If it says 'Select' on the window title, it's because you selected text, which pauses the command interface, just click F5 to refresh the terminal.

My script crashed/does not work as intended?

This can happen for a lot of reasons, add a new line and add pause, re-run the batch and send us the error it shows in #support .
