# Aarhus University, Research Assistant and CodeRefinery Trainer in AI and GPU Computing #
In a collaboration between Center for Humanities Computing at Aarhus University, Danish e-Infrastructure Cooperation, and CodeRefinery, we are looking for a new employee to develop, teach and support research applications of artificial intelligence in the Nordic countries.
The Aarhus University - School of Culture and Society invites applications for the position of Research Assistant and CodeRefinery Trainer with responsibility for AI applications based at the Center for Humanities Computing at Aarhus University (CHCAA) and Danish e-Infrastructure Cooperation (DeiC) at Aarhus University.
The position full-time and starts on <INSERT DATE> or as soon as possible thereafter.

## The Position ##
The Position is based at the Aarhus University - School of Culture and Society and will be associated with the Center for Humanities Computing Aarhus (CHC) and Danish e-Infrastructure Cooperation (DeiC). CHC is an eScience unit located at the Faculty of Arts and DeIC is the collaboration with and between the Danish universities on national digital research infrastructure.
We are looking for a dedicated applicant that can develop, teach and support applications of AI using general-purpose computing on GPUs (i.e. deep learning). The target group for the job activities is researchers in the Nordics. As a research assistant you are expected to develop research-based AI applications independently and as trainer you are expected to co-instruct and support a number of workshops every year and participate in CodeRefinery's activities (ex. meetings, community calls, and lesson development). Furthermore, you are expected to participate in relevant research and meeting activities in CHC and DeIC, in particular project development related to AI applications and promotion/support of Danish HPC infrastructure targeted at AI. All tasks should be carried out in collaboration with CodeRefinery.
## Qualifications ##
* An academic degree in computer science, artificial intelligence or related fields (ex. data science, cognitive science, NLP) or with relevant competencies (ex. physics).
* Experience with popular frameworks for developing deep learning (e.g., Tensorflow, PyTorch) and general-purpose computing on GPUs (CUDA, HIP).
* Interest in developing, teaching and supporting applications of AI with GPUs to academic reseachers.
* Interest in competency development initiatives like CodeRefinery, Carpentries, and EuroCC.
* Interest in collaborating with instructors in other Nordic countries on international training events.
Furthermore, it will be considered an advantage if applicants can document:
* Teaching experience at an academic or research institution
* Knowledge of cloud native and high performance computing
## Partners ##
Center for Humanities Computing Aarhus (CHC) is a computational research laboratory and eScience infrastructure located at the Faculty of Arts, Aarhus University Denmark. It researches, develops and supports computational approaches and technologies for humanities and social sciences research.
CodeRefinery acts as a hub for FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) software practices. It currently focuses on the Nordic/Baltic countries, but aims to expand beyond this region. CodeRefinery aims to operate as a community project with support from academic organizations.
Danish e-infrastructure Cooperation (DeiC) is the collaboration with and between the Danish universities on national digital research infrastructure. The purpose is to ensure computing, storage and network infrastructure for Danish research and education. The DeiC- organization coordinates the Danish participation in Nordic and European e-infrastructure organizations and projects.
