# Constructable Conveyor Belts ## Goal - Allow for players to build, repair or deconstruct conveyor belts with station resources. - Inspire players to do contraptions or gimmicks with this new feature. ## Anti-goal 1. Enable players to grief more easily. 2. Enable players to easily disassemble or disrupt current conveyor systems. ## Anti-Goal fixes 1. Limit conveyor belts to only be mechscannable, not ordered through Cargo or obtainable by public manufacturers. 2. Force non-Engineers to (un)weld any conveyor belt for 5 seconds before being able to modify them. (Engineers only have to un/weld for 2 seconds.) ## Current implementation - For the player to build new conveyor belt systems, they must first mechscan a conveyor belt and a conveyor belt switch. - Once scanned, they may be manufactured in Mech Lab as a frame. They can deploy the frame anywhere, and a conveyor belt will be built. - The new conveyor belt will have it's "panel" exposed, and while the panel is exposed, they can alter the conveyor belt as much as they can, until the conveyor belt is welded, then the panel will be covered. The contrary can also be done: weld a conveyor belt with it's panel covered to expose it's panel. - To change directions on modifiable conveyor belts, a player can click-drag the conveyor belt to the direction they want. A TGUI pop-up will appear, asking if they want to modify the direction in or the direction out. Once an option is picked, the conveyor belt will change the correct direction. - To link the conveyor belt to a switch, they can simply click-drag the conveyor belt or the switch to the belt in question. They may also connect in chain through the MechComp "link other devices" when attacking the switch with a multi-tool. - Conveyor belt switches can also be chained together. You can simply click-drag one switch to another, or use the MechComp "link other devices" option, and a switch will have it's ID replaced by another. - If, for whatever reason, a player also wants to re-new a switch's ID, they can do it by accessing the conveyor belt switch's MechComp menu and select the refresh option.
