# Notes on locations in the Weird Wilds *A Traveler's Notes on Locales Thus Discovered or Visited* ***The Wastes** Harsh and erratic, the proudest and most independent WITCHES call the sparse tundra of the Wastes their home. Covens gather around glowing hearths in enchanted huts fashioned from reeds and feathers. The Wind in the Wastes carries voices - WITCHES traveling through the Wastes are advised to listen.* ***The Tower** The durable and noble Tower provides shade and a means to mark the hours to all who live under her shadow, as well as other protections. The the hand-hewn stone blocks that make up the Tower and the surrounding city are always cool to the touch, even under the hottest sunlight. They say as long as you can see the Tower on the horizon, you will never lose your way.* ***The Hallowed Halls** The air is still and quiet within the Hallowed Halls and carries the breath of every mouse and spider from the depths to your ears. WITCHES come to the Halls to meditate under the lofty arched ceilings in search of deeper pockets of their souls. Incense is more powerful here. There always seems to be a bed available for one in need.* ***The Orrery** Only the HIGH WITCHES truly understand the grand design of the ancient arcane engines that power the Orrery. As vast as a city, long ago WITCHES erected homes of stone and steel upon the massive dials and floating gears. Despite the constant shifting of the streets beneath their feet, residents always seem to know how to find their way. Visitors are not so fortunate.* ***The Vivarium** Enveloped within endless glass lies The Vivarium, an infinite honeycomb of weird and wonderful biospheres. The alcoves within the crystal caves of Vivarium are as diverse as WITCHES themselves. Some huddle around fires behind walls of ice; others draw energy from the heat of black sand beaches. Be prepared for anything here.* ***The Swamp** The darkness of the bog is only dangerous to those who fear it; respect the Swamp and your feet will find their way. WITCHES of the Swamp live an austere life of moss and bark and fire. Ancient ingredients and forgotten secrets lay preserved within the peat - don't go looking unless you're certain you know what you want to find.* ***The Asylum** Once a cage, the Asylum now stands as an institution of free thinking. Scrolls and tomes fill the shelves of the Asylum's endless Library - truly no WITCH is known who has found the parchment at the end of the collection. Dormitories accomodate WITCHES who stay in residence during their studies at the Asylum. Though technically temporary, the never ending supply of knowledge means few WITCHES elect to leave.* ***The Void** Few WITCHES remember the beautiful countryside that once was the Void. When the VOID WITCH emerged from the wretched depths, their irrational magic left a scar in the delicate fabric woven by the HIGH WITCHES. WITCHES who live in the Void can recall only distant memories of their homes, fleeting and just out of reach. Location is unknown, trying to travel to the Void brings you back to where you departed.* ***The Demon Market** The most potent, exotic, and otherworldly treasures and components can only be found at the Demon Market. Brokers representing forces unknown barter wares equally mysterious. The arid, sand clogged air blowing between the rows of velvet tents can quickly burn exposed skin on harsh days. Guaranteed to find what you want, but the price must be paid.* ***The Wilds** The Wilds, weird and beautiful, connect the homes of WITCHES across the Milky Way. Roads, paths, and passages, some for feet and bodies, others for the mind, and many yet undiscovered, bring Covens together and let energy and magic flow from community to community. The wayfinding WITCHES living nomadic lives traversing the Wilds can be great sources of guidance, resources, and respite.* ***The Woods** High up in the trees live the WITCHES of the Woods as old as the World. The WITCHES keep the trees and the spirits of the Woods safe, and in return the trees freely share their wood and vines for bridges and homes secure among the boughs. To enter the Woods unprepared, or with malice, is to invite misfortune. The WITCHES of the Woods can be reasoned with; the other residents, not as much.*
