Johanna Mair 與 Thomas Gegenhuber 在 2021 年秋季發表的文章中指出：「與氣候危機、經濟不平等和種族不正義等其他社會挑戰一樣，新冠肺炎疫情放大了新、舊社會問題，並殘酷地暴露了我們系統中的弱點。」在台藍領外籍勞工居住在集合式宿舍，住宿環境狹小，經過移工團體多年的倡議仍不見改善，在 2021 年台灣本土疫情升溫之時爆發大規模廠內及宿舍群聚感染。疫情讓我們系統中的弱點無所遁形，但檢討不應僅應當下之急。

本次邀請到 National University of Singapore Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health 助理教授 Huso Yi 博士與台灣國際勞工協會專員陳容柔，一起從疫情下的職場衛生與安全來談談移工宿舍管理，以及如何針對移工宿舍管理進行總檢討，以改善我們職場衛生與安全系統中的弱點。

台南新芽，希望以公民團體的角色對台南市政開始理解、思考並介入、參與，進而達到實質監督的目的。參與政治並非只有參選一途，透過各種網路時代開放政府的思維，我們期許能降低公民關心政治的門檻，從人人都可以的公共參與開始，讓每個人都能快速理解施政實況，並且在資訊盡可能對等的情況下討論政策。

我們將舉辦志工營隊、定期講座、街頭宣傳，更重要的是開始規畫並執行市議會的監督工作，期待能揭開重重簾幕，讓議會問政實況呈現在市民面前。

讓我們一起構築藍圖，畫出對台南的願景與期待，讓台南成為一個多元友善、富有文化意涵、環境永續、勞工有尊嚴的城市。「台南新芽」在地紮根、深耕發芽，邀請您一起揮灑熱情、細心灌溉。
