# 10-man Suwon defeats Suwon FC to stay within a point of 11th-ranked Gangwon

Last-place Suwon Samsung overcame a sending-off disadvantage to win the "Suwon Derby" against Suwon FC and move back to within one point of 11th-place Gangwon FC.

Suwon won 3-2 away from home in the 36th round of the Hana OneQ K League 2023 at Suwon Sports Complex on Wednesday.

After two games without a win (one draw), Suwon improved to 7W8D21L (29 points), closing the gap on 11th-place Gangwon (30 points) to one point from the previous day.

Tenth-place Suwon FC (32 points) is now eight points behind ninth-place Jeju United (40 points), eliminating the possibility of staying up without a relegation playoff. In K League 1, the last-place team is relegated directly, while the 10th and 11th places are decided via a relegation playoff.
