* what worked well
* The sketches were fun and helped all of us to more clearly see how our product might turn out.
* We all got comfortable using ZenHub to track progress and manage tasks.
* Thinking about data structures helped to organize the project into distinct components, thus helping to plan out the rest of the term.

* what didn't
* As expected, there were many adjustments we needed to make during our first week collaborating. For one, we need to restructure our meeting time. We didn't realize the scope of what was required this week until quite late, and because everyone had a busy weekend we progressed more slowly than we'd have liked to.
* We struggled with learning how to prototype in Figma. None of us have significant experience with the software (or design in general), so it was difficult to create the main features of each page, let alone finer details.
* self assessment on progress
* where are you in relation to progress towards product and milestones?
* We located the data we need to develop our recommendation algorithm, which is arguably the most important part of this project.
* We have a consensus on the overall layout and main features of the website.
* We are starting to understand each service the back end will have to provide thanks to mapping out rough data structures.
* We still need to polish up our UI design before we can start work on the front end.
* Developing the recommendation algorithm could take a very long time.
* We need to learn more about how to implement the social aspect of the website.
* give an estimate of how far towards your goals you are, do you think you're on track?
* In some areas, such as definition of product features and planning out future tasks, we feel well-prepared.
* Other things, such as UI design and tech stack selection, are behind where we'd like them to be, but these are tasks we're going to be taking on this week.
* lay out *each* of the following weeks till end of term with brief goals for each
* Current Week: Scaffolding
* Get data (Amazon reviews, any other useful sources)
* Begin work on the recommendation algorithm (set up Tensorflow, tag data, etc.)
* Select each component of tech stack and integrate them
* Week 6: Implementation and Data Wiring
* Front end: basic navigation, home page, recommendation results page
* Back end: essential data structures
* Have a working v1 algorithm
* Week 7: Main Features Progress
* Enhance recommendation algorithm
* Front end: start social feed + progress tracking + encouragement features, finish recommendation pages
* Back end: all that's required to support above front end features, incorporate v1 algorithm into recommendations
* Algorithm: begin work on more powerful version that considers themes, authors, etc.
* Week 8: Testable MVP
* Thorough testing of completed features to eliminate bugs that prevent demonstration
* Front end: complete items begun prior week, ensure visual consistency
* Back end: as needed to complete features for this week
* Algorithm: continue progress
* Week 9: Testing Plan / User Testing
* Engage variety of users to get feedback
* Test all components of application
* Continue usability and consistency work on front end
* Prepare for demo day
* briefly summarize any other topics/discussions
