Tactics Time is a game jam built around turn-based tactics and strategy games. This game jam runs for 2 weeks. Join this jam to create your own original system designed to run turn-based tactics and strategy games. This jam is open to both pen & paper games, as well as LARPs, TTRPGs, and games played electronically.
Tactics Time is a genre of strategy games that through stop-action simulates the considerations and circumstances of operational warfare and military tactics in generally small-scale confrontation.
Turn-Based Strategy is a genre of strategy game where players take turns when playing rather than going at the same time.
# Things You Can Do
* Brainstorm, outline, and work on concept art before the jam begins, but **please keep the final assets and game creation to the two week long jam period!**
* **Work solo or in a team!** feel free to check the jam's **community** here on [itch.io](http://itch.io/) to look for collaborators if you'd like to form a team. Or ask around on twitter using the #TBTJam
* Make use of premade and paid assets in your project is also allowed, provided you use them according to the creator's terms.
* Submit **unfinished work** if you feel comfortable sharing it; you **don't** have to submit a perfectly polished project and are welcome to show off whatever you create as a prototype or proof-of-concept, whether it's an unfinished demo or a collection of assets you were able to create during the jam.
**### This is open to both pen & paper games, games played electronically and LARPs games & systems.**
# Rules
1. Tag your submissions appropriately! If there is violence, substance abuse, mature themes or other such things, please list the types of content within it on your storefront page.
2. I ask that you keep your content for this jam rated T (For *Teen* based on the ESRB rating scale). I can't and won't complain if you change your content after the jam ends.
3. Releasing a playable demo is fine. Whatever work you feel is polished enough to share is encouraged to be posted.
4. There are no "winners." Anyone who reaches their goal during the jam is encouraged to submit their game.
# The Olivia Hill/No Fascists Policy
If you're a fascist, homophobe, transphobes, sexist, racist, misogynistic, or in any way shape, or form a bigot, you're not welcome. It's against the rules, and we are the hosts of this jam and we do what we want. If you're reading this and thinking, "You just call everyone you disagree with names!" go away. Just go away. Leave. Don't come back. We don't care and we don't want to hear it. Because you are incapable of drawing inferences from context and acknowledging a dangerous political climate that causes the oppressed to be hyperbolic. Heal yourself. Grow. Learn. Watch some Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood or something, we don’t care, just remove us from your life and when you become a less awful human being still stay the fuck away from us because we don't deal with people who went to bigotry as a "phase".
Credit to Olivia Hill for this rule, which has been reworded to fit the jam.
