Location

The workshops take place in guest houses which have comfortable working spaces, a cooking and dining area, and a few bedrooms. This favors an intense workshop, with everything taking place in the same location. It's also possible to pitch tents in the garden.

Internet: wired internet connection and open wifi.

Linen are provided. Please bring towels, etc.

The surrounding area offers nice hiking possibilities bring hiking/climbing shoes. Your music instruments and scores, card or board games, etc, are also welcome for the breaks.

From Paris to Cernay

  • From centre of Paris: 40 minutes RER B to Saint-Rémy-les-Chevreuse (you might have to get off at Orsay and switch to a bus replacing the train on the final bit) + 20 or 30 minutes bus to Cernay-la-Ville (depending on time of day)

  • From Gare Montparnasse: 35 minutes train to Rambouillet + 15 minutes bus to Cernay-la-Ville

  • Bus options:

    • from St Rémy les Chevreuse (RER station), bus 39-003 or 39-103
    • from Rambouillet (SNCF station) line 39-03 and 39-203
    • Buses are run by SAVAC
    • Beware that there are no buses at all to Cernay on sunday and that there are big gaps in the day with no buses!
    • Of the two bus stops in Cernay, Grand'Place is closest to the guest house.
  • Check travel itineraries on ViaNavigo (includes trains, RER, buses).
Or ratp but only for travel up to Saint-Rémy-les-Chevreuse.

  • There are not that many buses from Saint-Rémy, and Cernay is about 6km away; so we run car shuttles based on the arrival and departure page of the workshop.

  • Map and aerial photo

Participation

  • Everyone cooks (or helps cook) once, and helps setup/bus the table twice (or proportionally if you stay less than the full week). Choose your spots and register yourself on the white board!
  • We try to accommodate diet restrictions; let us know.
  • The local pets are super friendly. But don't let them in the houses
  • Close the door of cellar (to keep the food fresh) and to the rooms (for the noise: keep people fresh).
  • Shopping: if you go e.g. get bread or other small shopping, let's not bother about reimbursement. For larger amounts, I (Nicolas) will pay and get reimbursed all at once.
  • Preferably keep shoes downstairs.
