There are existing abstractions over ElasticSearch clients. One example is Spring Data Elasticsearch, which I have found to be a great tool. They are using classes which are in the “elasticsearch” package, so they won’t be compatible with the new clients. What considerations is the OpenSearch team taking to help authors of these types of abstraction libraries? Erin Verbeck-Lane to Everyone (10:34 AM) Can you do aggs queries with this plugin? I don’t think there is plans to make forks of those abstractions but I think it’s a great opportunity to work with those libs to make them more compatible. Is the hope that we the authors of these tools will find the OpenSearch clients a better match and then update their code?
