    # iROBOT Technical Ops The iROBOT DAO coordinated the deployment of over 1000 ETH into an auto-adjusting liquidity pool. Members were able to participate in a complex capital deployment by just sending funds to an address, and allowing the DAO to optimize the strategy through direct on chain governance. We experimented with a range of new tools and techniques to pull this off and overcome the challenges we faced. The iROBOT DAO was made possible by combining tools from DAOHaus, Gnosis Guild, Balancer, Tenderly and many more. In this post we'll walk through the intended strategy, step-by-step operation, key stats, and some retrospective thoughts. ## Strategy On summon, the DAO accepts WETH and ETH from new members. The funds collected are then be deployed into a Balancer v2 pool at a ratio of 99:1 WETH:ROBOT. Over time the weights automatically adjust to 70:30 ROBOT:WETH. The LP tokens are distributed to members, along with vesting rewards. ## Operations ### 1 - Yeet The [Safe](https://etherscan.io/address/0xaeca461405dd2892fba8bd03efe6ab89749d4b39) was summoned at MCon to receive the funds and onboard members. In the first couple days we received 1024 ETH. ![](https://i.imgur.com/prcgFqR.png) While WETH was preferred, it was ok for members to send ETH because we were able to wrap the ETH through an executable proposal. ### 2 - Summon Once the yeet period ended we tallied the contributions and configured a new Moloch DAO with shares distributed proportional to contributions. With 170 members we were close to the limit for a mass Moloch summon, probably the largest mass Moloch summon ever attempted. 17M gas later we had a DAO with all of our members! https://etherscan.io/tx/0xcef8f0676ddecaacecf4fd6f8f020cdea07c5fab25e5d5ebd7c380cc4e569333#eventlog ![](https://i.imgur.com/fhldeRK.png) ### 3 - Grant Moloch ownership of Safe Zodiac enables modules to govern Gnosis Safes, bypassing multisig signers. Through the Minion Safe boost developed by DAOHaus, we were able to give the new DAO direct control over the Safe. ### 4 - Purchase initial Robot According to the strategy, the DAO intended to launch a balancer pool with 99% WETH and 1% ROBOT. The first DAO proposal was therefore to purchase $42K worth of ROBOT. When making DAO proposal that are directly executable on chain, it helps to simulate the effects of the bytecode associated with the proposal. We used Tenderly to communicate the effects of a proposal to voters. In this simulation we can see that the successful execution of this proposal would transfer 11.76 WETH from the DAO's safe and receive 467 ROBOT in return. ![](https://i.imgur.com/cS2DrG5.png) https://etherscan.io/tx/0x48eccce5dac4e892c08378a30616f4800b8f7d7e9047ee431055c52aa5e55a6f/advanced ### 5 - Fund the pool The Balancer team helped us deploy a new pool with ratios fixed at 99% WETH and 1% ROBOT. Once the pool was deployed the DAO voted on a proposal to use all funds to seed the pool. The simulated transaction is included below. ![](https://i.imgur.com/Da9QpIx.png) ### 6 - Set the weight adjustment According to the DAO strategy the WETH/ ROBOT weights should adjust from the intial 99/1 to 30/70. In Balancer v2 we can set these as the DAO is the pool owner. The final weights of 30/70 were set to be reached at midnight on NYE. ![](https://i.imgur.com/AmVkMGg.png) https://etherscan.io/tx/0x6f23b1af952cc5aaf7990f0a152f236845e33d7906bf7399c794064b1ae02b95/advanced#eventlog ### 7 - Bring iROBOT home We then had to bring the newly created iROBOT tokens, along with any leftover WETH and ROBOT back into the rage-quittable Moloch DAO treasury. This allowed any member to get their proportional share of the balancer pool back at any time, only missing out on later vesting rewards. ![](https://i.imgur.com/mtS1USR.png) https://etherscan.io/tx/0x71f17282d06511891f447d9475b826e92a82c8033effe45f56c76c6bc9ae23dc/advanced ### 8 - Rage Quit or Wait Now that all funds are back in the rage quittable treasury, members are free to stay or leave. Staying is rewarded through additional vesting ROBOT rewards, and early access to iROBOT season 2. # Effects This pattern has now been formalized into the 'yeeter' configuration on DAOHaus. Yeeter DAOs allow people to spin up a Safe to collect funds first, then grant Moloch shares to members if a funding threshold has been reached. These onboarding patterns are being further developed in Moloch v3, codename Baal. # Stats 3.3 ETH spent on gas fees 1024 ETH yeeted into the DAO 89% of members retained throughout the mission 25,000 Robot purchased by the DAO - 6% of the total supply! 5 accidental early rage quits which were re-issued shares by the DAO # Links DAOHaus DAO - https://app.daohaus.club/dao/0x1/0xec10a54c9ed76f29c9d469b64fd3b6a5fd69c34d/vaults Balancer Pool - https://app.balancer.fi/#/pool/0xccf5575570fac94cec733a58ff91bb3d073085c70002000000000000000000af
