功能概覽
三大功能
- 閱讀EPUB格式書籍（書源：Kobo Store、Adobe Digital Editions、自行匯入）
- 閱讀網路文章（透過Pocket）
- 上網（目前瀏覽器功能藏在 Settings → Beta Features）
其他功能
- 遇到陌生字詞可以求助內建字典，或者連上Wifi快速查找Google或Wikipedia。
- 對Kobo Store原生書籍的功能支援最完整，可以設定字型、行距、白邊，可以畫重點或加註，可以縮放檢視文檔內圖片。
- 搜尋：商店、書籍、文檔內、分類、文章。
- 背光調整：亮度及色溫。
- 實體鍵長按連續換頁（epub）。
- 沒有音效功能（沒有喇叭、耳機孔、TTS）。
- PDF跑比較慢。
暫時沒有繁中UI，也沒有中文輸入法。2019年4月已更新加入繁體中文介面及注音輸入法。- 沒有筆記或繪圖軟體、沒有App商店。
KEPUB
- 一般epub檔在kobo閱讀器中會有封面無法填滿、圖片無法雙擊放大，或是遇中文字型閃退等問題，用Kepubify轉檔成kepub（KOBO EPUB）可以解決上述問題。
- Kepubify是簡易使用的epub to kepub轉檔器，把檔案拖曳到執行檔上就會在相同目錄下產生新檔案。
- 雖然Kobo forma的螢幕解析度很高（1440×1920），但8吋的螢幕必須在橫屏模式才能滿足舒適的頁面寬度。在kobo閱讀器中，PDF可以橫屏上下跳頁達到不錯的閱讀效果，但是仍然嫌慢。
- 可使用Plato作為替代閱讀器（安裝說明）。Plato換頁快速，而且支援頁面垂直連續捲動、手動切邊等實用功能，另外還提供計算機、手繪板功能（Applications → Sketch, Calculator）。

中文字型顯示
- 連接電腦，在根目錄建立"Fonts"資料夾，放入字型檔即可（只接受TTF格式）。
- Vixual的介紹
http://www.vixual.net/blog/archives/107- 直接取用文中「取代 Kobo UD Kakugo 系統字型」和「取代 Kobo Tsukushi Mincho 系統字型」的檔案就幾乎可以正常顯示中文。
- Vixual大後來又推出「偽直排」字型：www.vixual.net/blog/archives/713
- Google和Adobe合作的兩種中文字體Noto Sans CJK（思源黑體）、Noto Serif CJK（思源宋體）可以從Google Fonts下載，但只提供OTF檔。

- 國發會全字庫「正楷體」、「正宋體」
https://data.gov.tw/dataset/5961- 能正常顯示繁中直排書，英文字和超連結線不會亂跑位、標點不亂轉橫。
- 缺點是橫排書正楷體英文很醜、正宋體字太細沒有像思源宋體的粗細選擇。
