# Optional Utilities :::danger :exclamation: NOTE: This version of the guide has been pretty much depreciated in favor of the new guide [here](https://vivanewvegas.github.io) :exclamation: ::: ### **[BSA Decompressor](https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/65854?tab=files)** <span style="color:#ff8040">Special Install Instructions: </span> >**Extract the contents of the archive to any folder** >**Run *FNV BSA Decompressor.exe*** >**Follow the instructions given to you** >**Wait for the Decompressor to finish** >**Click the ![](https://i.imgur.com/4poZDGK.png) button on the top bar of MO2 >Select *INI Editor* >Replace the following in the *Fallout.ini* tab:** SArchiveList= (The entire line) >**With:** SArchiveList=Fallout - Invalidation.bsa, Fallout - Textures.bsa, Fallout - Textures2.bsa, Fallout - Meshes.bsa, Fallout - Meshes2.bsa, Fallout - Voices1.bsa, Fallout - Sound.bsa, Fallout - Misc.bsa (Should all be on one line) -- Decompresses BSAs and repacks them without zlib compression to increase performance ### **[New Vegas Reloaded - NVGE](http://www.tesreloaded.com/thread/494/package)** <span style="color:#ff8040">Special Install Instructions: </span> >**Extract *binkw32.dll* to the main directory and overwrite when prompted >Install the rest of the archive through MO2 >Use [this](http://www.mediafire.com/file/lupdklcfd35wwdn/NVGE_INI.7z/file) INI file** > -- Adds a new rendering pipeline and changes the vanilla shaders along with memory management. The guide's INI file disables all the effects so it is just the updated shaders and memory management so you can tweak it how you like. ### **NVIDIA Control Panel Settings** >**Right-click on the desktop and select *NVIDIA Control Panel* >Select *Manage 3D Settings* and go to the *Program Settings* tab >Select *Fallout - New Vegas (falloutnv.exe) from the program dropdown* >Configure the settings as follows:** >>**Anisotropic filtering - 16x >>Antiailiasing - Gamma Correction - On >>Antiailiasing - Mode - Enhance the application setting >>Antiailiasing - Setting - 8x >>Antiailiasing - Transparency - 8x (supersample) >>Maximum pre-rendered frames - 1 >>Multi-Frame Sampled AA (MFAA) - On >>Power management mode - Prefer maximum performance >>Shader Cache - On >>Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias - Clamp >>Texture filtering - Quality - Quality >>Texture filtering - Trilinear optimization - On >>Vertical sync - On** -- Only available for systems with an NVIDIA GPU. AMD GPUs have a similar control panel where you can find similar settings.
