## Unanswered questions
- What is the status of yCulture?
- Can Yearn get a bespoke insurance policy like MakerDAO has proposed from Nexus Mutual to minimize the fear of loss?
- Is the new governance contract going to allow for delegated voting like UNI and will cYFI, aYFI, yYFI be allowed to vote?
## Answered questions
### Vaults
- If all of the vaults used a 1.25x leveraged long strategy and a 5% withdrawal fee, would this not create a moat that cannot be forked since other protocols do not have the AUM that YFI has?
- Not necessarily. There are several competitors in the space, one of which at the moment has higher AUM. Any competitors are free to copy Yearn, we can't stop them from forking/copying in this scenario specified.
- Can we get yUSD added to MakerDAO as collateral?
- This has been previously discussed on the forums, but is being put on hold until we establish the meta/new yUSD as well. Effectively, there will potentially still be the yCRV vault token (current yUSD), but then another meta token that is a basket for several vault tokens.
- When Real World Assets like PAXG or DROP are added to MakerDAO can we create vaults around them?
- When they are added we can have this discussion, for now lets focus on things that we can build today.
- Is auto-hedging using HEGIC options possible?
- Can you please elaborate? For example, generating passive income in ETH from staking HEGIC and using puts to automatically hedge the downside without a need for more capital (i.e. delta neutral strategy).
- No idea about hegic vault if you don't know ask in the thread about it [here](https://gov.yearn.finance/t/create-a-yhegic-vault/5903)
- Andre Twitter alter-ego said in a Tweet that HEGIC dev was his spirit animal <3
- Why are we multiplying stablecoin vaults, instead of merging all of them into a unified yUSD one?
- This is in the works. No timeline available.
- Afaik we are not merging all the vaults into one vault
- Can all the vaults use a leveraged long strategy similar to yETH?
- No. The core asset of several vaults are stablecoins, it would be unintuitive to borrow stablecoins using stablecoins as collateral (with less than 100% capital as well, due to LTV restrictions). yETH vault uses borrowed funds as it can draw a line of credit using a volatile asset. Delegated vaults also use leverage. But no not all vaults are using leverage, nor does it make sense to do so.
- Is there a line in the sand on the price of CRV where we choose to drop them (e.g. a penny)?
- No. Yearn is protocol agnostic. CRV is farmed and the majority if the funds are sold for stablecoins then yCRV and distributed to holders. Some is held for future gauge boosting deposits. We wouldn't "drop them", but we could potentially shift capital to other protocols if it is more profitable and safe to do so.
- When Synthetix releases leveraged futures with 72 hours to fix a margin call and no slippage, will we be able to somehow integrate it into our strategies?
- Yes. When other protocols introduce updates we can potentially leverage them in our strategies. Since this update you referred hasn't happened yet, we cannot do anything at the moment. But, when it does, you are free to propose it in a strategy on the governance forum.
- When will deposits be enabled for LINK vault?
- Not anytime soon, no plan. In fact, we are working to remove the deposit option on the yVault page. If you want to deposit LINK go into the aLINK vault.
- Any updates on the yaLink vault?
- Not yet. But we are actively looking for new strategies. You are all invited to propose one on the governance forum.
- Why is the SNX Vault on hold?
- Currently, there is no cost effective way to get around the 1 year vested rewards and the team would rather focus on improving version 2 of the vaults. If anyone wants to work on the [strategy](https://etherscan.io/address/0x2288c409e67b6ce52180f97a8cddf7abc24ec989#code) and improve on the design they are more than welcome to.
##### Vault Fees
- Would having a simple 5% withdrawal fee be better than a performance fee to eliminate front-running, keep capital locked in for longer/eliminate high-frequency trading, and capture the fees lost to SnowSwap?
- Perhaps. This is a subjective scenario that would need financial modeling to prove if it would be "better". Changes to fees can be proposed on the governance forum.
- Why is my withdrawal fee from xxxVault so expensive, $70 or more?
- First off, there is a withdrawal fee only if the contract has to pull your funds from an active strategy. This means that if vault holdings - strategy holdings > your withdrawal there is no fee. In this case the contract call will only have to do very little. But if this is not the case, and all holdings are currently in the strategy then the contract call will have to dip into the strategy contract. This will require like 20 transactions in one call. This costs alot of gas, thus a lot more in usd to withdrawal than if there were idle funds. This is the reason for the expensive withdrawal fee you might see at times. (dark)
- you can check vault holdings [here](https://feel-the-yearn.app/) or read more about fees in our [faq](https://docs.yearn.finance/faq#what-are-the-fees)
- You can use SnowSwap and see when is a good time to withdraw from the vault to avoid the fee
- Would charging a 1% early withdrawal fee (e.g. 30 days) from staked YFI encourage a longer time horizon investor?
- This might be included in the massive gov update we are waiting on. There are more than a few YIPs that are waiting to pass to overhaul governance. All currently pending. Will give more of an answer soon
- Have we determined what the fee structure will be (e.g. 10% performance fee)?
- No fee structure has been determined, or formally changed as of Oct-20. You can, however, propose a change on the governance forum.
- SRS Parafi's thread on fees is [here](https://gov.yearn.finance/t/proposal-revamping-fees/7073) and their older thread on this is [here](https://gov.yearn.finance/t/yip-change-5-harvesting-fee-to-performance-fee-on-profits/4613)
- Post on adding a management fee to vaults [here](https://gov.yearn.finance/t/management-fees-for-vaults/5692)
- I’d like to withdraw from the DAI vault but I’ve noticed there’s a message that says “withdrawals might be subject to high slippage due to a recent large withdrawal” can anyone explain: 1. Why slippage occurs; 2. How to calculate the amount of slippage; 3. How long it will take for things to return to normal.
- If there are available funds in the vault that are more than the amount you wish to withdraw then your fund comes straight out of the vault. (Calculated by vault holdings — strategy holdings [here](https://yearn.finance/stats) — otherwise the strategy has to trade in order to supply your withdraw which may experience slippage, if the pools are out of balance by alot we will notify you on the UI that there might be high slippage and it would be best if you see this msg to wait to withdrawal.
#### Strategies
- Would providing liquidity to Shell protocol or SWRV help increase APY?
- This could be an option for v2 vaults with multiple strategies. One of the major problems with Swerve is the low TVL, meaning that any meaningful deposits from Yearn would tank APY.
- If CRV continues to fall is there a problem for the yVaults?
- This will cause all vaults that farm the crv to have a drop in APY/ROI
- This is the reason we are working hard to impliment v2 vaults with multiple strategies.
- Is there a way we can move Yearn to a more computable/quantitative finance model and possibly use Gauntlet Network to mitigate against catastrophic failure?
- I think the reason Andre tests in prod is because it is hard to simulate DeFi. I have no idea about the first part but make a proposal to start discussion on this on the forum.
- Will strategies that incur impermanent loss be implemented in the future and possibly rebrand to yPools to distinguish them from yVaults?
- Yes this is something that has been looked at, maybe a possible UNI yPool, and others, but it is not the highest priority right now and needs a dev or many devs to work on it and more open discussion on the forum.
- https://gov.yearn.finance/t/proposal-create-four-new-vaults-farming-uni/6564/7
- Will yYFI be deposited into MakerDAO to yield farm when approved as collateral in order to lock up as much YFI as possible thereby limiting circulating supply?
- This is one of the possible strategies for the yYFI vault and has been previously discussed. This will likely depend on strategies for DAI usage vs governance return rates—but the point is not to limit circulating supply, it's to find the best yield.
- What’s up with the ETH vault? Seems like the biggest opportunity for adoption. Are changes coming?
- A DAI strategy that farms COMP is in testing right now and should be released soon; this is planned for use on the yETH Vault.
- What is the dev team’s stance on copying and improving strategies from others such as $FARM to boost TVL and reducing end user fees which would provide value esp if yearn ecosystem is robust enough?
- On this, anyone is free to submit a strategy for a new vault or an existing one, and if it is approved, they would get 0.5% of yield generated from by the vault by this strategy. Currently there are a few forum posts for how we should deal with fees, if you have any good ideas I would post them there.
##### V2 Vaults and their Strategies
- How do multi-strategy vaults yield farm, leverage their returns, and avoid liquidation?
- An ELI5 breakdown is needed for [Vaults v2 Design](https://gov.yearn.finance/t/vaults-v2-design/6658)
- Any more news about the audits/release for v2 Vaults?
- Audits are in discussion. We are talking to 3 firms and they should start around November.
- Any updates on the UNI Vault?
- Progress for this vault can be seen here (https://github.com/iearn-finance/yearn-protocol/pull/49)
- Any updates on testing the leveraged COMP farming strategy for the DAI/ETH/wBTC vaults? Will this be going live soon?
- The v2 Dai Comp farming strategy is mostly done and it is being tested now. Hopefully there will be a limited production version in the next few days or early next week.
- Any plans with Pickle.Finance? New strategies?
- We currently don’t have any plans for a collaboration, but we are now testing a strategy that stakes Uniswap LP tokens with pickle.finance to farm PICKLE and UNI. It is currently undergoing testing, see more here: https://github.com/iearn-finance/strategy-uni-lp-pickle.
- I know there was a yHEGIC vault in the works… is that moving forward? Or still waiting for the finalized community strategy?
- We don’t feel comfortable pushing yHEGIC as a v1 vault so we are waiting for the release of v2 vaults.
- What are we doing to make it easier for users to create new vaults?
- We are working on a document to clarify the process of creating vaults. As for coding strats that a user has suggested, that’s up to you to team up with a developer. We’d love to see more community made strategies and vaults.
- Will users have to do anything to move funds from the v1 yETH vault to v2 once it launches? Or are we good to just leave ETH in the v1 vault?
- V1 and V2 will coexist and if migration is needed, there will be a method to do it without the withdrawal fee.
### Yswap
- When will ySwap be in production? Is there any more detailed doc on how ySwap can almost eliminate IL?
- Currently, none of Yearn’s devs are working on ySwap and are instead focused on other things such as v2 yVaults as well as new strategies. However, you can see that ySwap is still in [Andre’s backlog of projects](https://twitter.com/bantg/status/1318146715594199042?s=20). The most up to date info we have on ySwap is in our [docs for yswap](https://docs.yearn.finance/r-and-d/yswap) along with the [initial blog post](https://medium.com/iearn/yswap-exchange-99bf906311db).
### Legal
- Is there any discussion on finding a legal compliance officer to mitigate any potential fallout from regulation like BitMex suffered?
- Afaik no, nothing like this is ongoing, most people see us being listed on Coinbase as compliance enough that we are doing something right, but this might be a good idea and I think we are looking at our options on if the multi-sig would be liable under any circumstances for things. Make a forum post.
- If YFI has no capital gains/dividends, then would this not eliminate any legal risk to the developers since it is not a security?
- We do not provide tax or legal opinions. We suggest you consult tax professionals in your jurisdictions regarding such matters.
- Are the yVaults considered a security since they can generate capital gains/dividends?
- We do not provide tax or legal opinions. We suggest you consult tax professionals in your jurisdictions regarding such matters.
### Yearn Ecosystem
- Has the yearn minting function been burnt?
- Yearn’s minting function has not yet been burnt, but it has the overwhelming support of the community to do so based on this [snapshot vote (a polling vote)](https://snapshot.page/#/yearn/proposal/QmXywy67BG2rMwaMnfWWP5op6MWPdYUU3RPxD38WdxkN57). Though some have argued on the forum that since [YIP1 passed](https://yips.yearn.finance/YIPS/yip-1) we should mint more YFI. This will probably be discussed more on the gov forum, but it does seem like the community is overwhelmingly in favor of burning the minting keys.
- Are developers working on futures contracts or bringing synthetic assets like SNX has?
- No. For synthetic assets what do you mean by 'bringing'? How would yearn use synthetics? Forum post so we can talk about it.
- Can we develop a periodically rebalanced DeFi index that consists of yYFI, yLINK, yBTC, etc. and pays a dividend in yUSD in order to have a single vault to rule them all?
- Assuming this is referring to yIndex https://gov.yearn.finance/t/yindex-development/6873 I don't know of anything more going on than what is discussed in this thread. I suppose this could be another piece of the yearn ecosystem and would vote to have it, needs a YIP though! (dark)
- What is the status of yAcademy?
- Best place for answers is to ask aliatiia he is spearheading this and is coordinating with gitcoin on this.
- Is there an impetus for a yVC vault if not why not?
- Waiting on governance update? Possibly will find out
- Is hiring someone to onboard customers from non-English speaking countries a possibility?
- The community rejected this idea from a Korean marketing firm [here](https://gov.yearn.finance/t/proposal-to-boost-korean-involvement-in-yfi/3121)
- Are the developers keeping an eye on new protocols being released and potentially forming symbiotic relationships with them
- Yes, definitely - for example: Crescofin.ch https://defi.crescofin.ch/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/crescofin-im-defi.pdf
- To some extent yes, but its best for the community as a whole to keep up to date and post where Yearn can improve and form good relationships with other protocols on the forums. (dark)
- How is L2 coming?
- No dev except maybe Andre is working on L2 as far as I know. Most people are focused on launching v2 vaults and other fixes/updates.
- the_ethernaut (Synthetix dev) has offered to help with L2 if we want to do that
- Is there any possibility for cross-chain interoperability?
- Possibility yes, no one is currently working on this. If you want yearn to explore this more make a forum post for discussion on this topic
- Fantom FTM launched some new stuff recently (Uniswap/AMM clone for example), since apparently Andre knows them well, anyway we could have a strat using FTM?
- Is there a possibility of integrating or somehow using a coin mixer for privacy concerns
- Users can use tornado.cash if they want. Direct integration with tornado.cash may be challenging, IMO we should focus on building core products and if users want privacy they should just use a private account
- [Find the most up-to-date info about yPhoon here](https://gov.yearn.finance/t/proposal-yphoon-add-the-ability-for-the-yearn-vaults-to-act-as-privacy-mixers/6297)
- What is the status of synthetic rebased dollars?
- Andre just pushed a github update to ycredit.finance github
- Can we enventually create our own specialized AMM coupled with StableCredit and yVaults to maximize ROI that only uses the most popular volatile assets to avoid encroaching on Curve.fi?
- AMM for what? There are already many out there why would we be able to compete? There is 1inch, mooniswap, uniswap, curve ect.
- Stablecredit is not finished so we cannot use that to make an amm, we need devs to work on it or andre to finish it first.
- Should Yearn encourage buying insurance through incentivized shield mining using Nexus Mutual in the same way that tBTC issued KEEP tokens?
- Needs a dev. Would this be a wnxm vault or something else? I would like this to be explored more and think it has potential to be very big and increase fees for the yearn ecosystem
- Is StableCredit going to be a feature exclusive to Yearn, AAVE, or someone else and how will it benefit YFI?
- You can learn more about stablecredit [here](https://youtu.be/SkTuMVBLBNQ),
- StableCredit has been handed over to Aave for them to develop the system as it better suits them. Aave has the liquidity stableCredit would initially need and is the closest related platform to handle its launch. StableCredit doesn't really belong to yearn, even if it does help vaults a lot. It's just an immutable deployment with no governance that will belong to no one.
- What is the status of getting YFI added to Compound?
- We do not control how other projects choose to list or delist coins on their platforms. You can reach out to them and ask of the status.
- From a liability point of view, does it make more sense to use an existing options protocol like HEGIC for a vault or is it better to create our own?
- This is minimal liability. Yearn is not a company or a centralized entity. It is a collective group of decentralized contributors. Legal liability in this context isn't factored in.
- Since most DeFi tokens fall substantially in price (e.g. CRV), would it make more sense to dump DeFi tokens immediately and use ETH as the reserve asset since it is a better store of value and will generate more alpha once ETH 2.0 arrives?
- Possibly. Most of the tokens are sold for stablecoins and distributed to stakers. There is no formal policy or procedures in place that dictate what should or should not be done. You are free to propose one on the governance forum. Using farmed profits to buy ETH as a reserve asset does little to objectively remove the risk of price fluctuations, since ETH itself is a volatile asset. Alpha means excess returns over the benchmark in financial markets. ETH is arguably the benchmark asset, alongside BTC. Going long ETH would not generate alpha.
- Would adding SourceCred to Discord, Github, and the governance forum encourage more participation?
- It may encourage more participation, but there is already quite an active participation level on the governance forum. The forum is not meant to financially compensate contributors based on likes, views, or other metrics. It is meant to be an avenue contributors can share ideas, collaborate with each other, and govern the protocol.
- Cross-chain strategies?
- Currently, we are not actively pursuing this, but anyone is free to work on it or propose it on the forums if that is something they want the yearn team to research.
- With regards to the recent harvest.finance arbitrage exploit on single-asset stablecoin vaults that deposit to Curve, do we have any concerns about our DAI, TUSD, or GUSD vaults and their current Curve-based strategies? Could an exploiter manipulate the underlying curve pool with flash loans, vault deposits, earn calls, and vault withdrawals in order to steal money from our DAI, TUSD, and GUSD vaults?
- Since Yearn’s vaults use get_virtual_price(), as seen [here](https://twitter.com/bantg/status/1320738907869372418?s=20) they are NOT able to be exploited in the same manner, none of them, not even the GUSD vault. Yearn has a much lower slippage limit than harvest did, and it is not able to be used to manipulate the price or steal user funds via any means flashloan or otherwise. The GUSD vault has some slippage to get into the vault now because it is not very active this is within limits and not exploitable.
- In terms of increasing competition from other projects being created and so on, how do you see Yearn distinguishing itself from the pack and what would the our competitive advantage?
- Yearn is one of the top leaders of innovation. Where others are cloning and making security mistakes, Yearn is “ahead of the curve.” We are on the forefront of vaults with v2/other products, where as everyone else is just getting caught up on v1.
- Is yTRADE still on the near roadmap? and will it be as advertised by Andre in the past, or with different mechanics?
- It has been advertised as open for [collaboration with Andre](https://twitter.com/bantg/status/1316710584386289666?s=20)
#### Keep3r Network
- Has there been discussion of how the new Keep3r project can be used to help Yearn in any way? What is the reason that Andre appears on the surface to be working more heavily with Synthetix than with the Yearn core devs on this project? Can you tell us more about Keep3r, MetaWallet and yOracle?
- Again, Andre is not paid or compensated for working on yearn in any way nor did he get a ‘founder’ reward, so Andre is free to develop and work with anyone he likes, but he is in constant contact with the core Yearn devs. Having said that, as of now, Keep3r will be an essential utility network for yearn — used to call harvest on time. You can read more about keeper [At the main blogpost](https://andrecronje.medium.com/keep3r-network-ba5af26c1f24) and [here as well](https://andrecronje.medium.com/keep3r-network-update-audit-967a9ecbab4c). And as of now all we have about these new protocols are what is written on Andre’s blogs.
- Is Keep3r network is going to be a part of Yearn brand?
- Keep3r has its own token and Yearn will be relying on it for calling the Harvest() function of the vaults in a timely, optimal manner. This is all we know for now.
### Development
- What is the status on Banteg's dashboard which he said he would open-source?
- Banteg/Artem is very busy and has said before [here](https://gov.yearn.finance/t/raise-the-salary-of-core-team-member-artem/6436/40?u=dark) that he works like 80 hours a week or more on yearn, I dont think this is a priority for him. Maybe yall can make a forum post for this and it can be talked about more. Maybe this could be integrated into the yearn ecosystem somehow like dextools is? Not sure.
- How many developers are behind Yearn Finance now, and is Andre still a part of it?
- Yearn has many contributors. A full list of people who have contributed to our GitHub can be seen at [ycontributors](https://ycontributors.finance/). For the main developers on payroll, you can see [here](https://gov.yearn.finance/t/september-grants-announcement/7044) that we have banteg as the lead dev, and x48, fubuloubu, doug, and luciano as full-time devs as well. orbxball serves as our lead strategist. For this month Matt Bridges also received a grant for his dev work, along with Bob_The_Buidler. Yearn’s list of grant recipients is published monthly, and may change from month to month. If you’re a dev and wish to contribute, we’re always looking for skilled devs, so please head over to the #dev channel to get started. Regarding Andre’s involvement, Andre does still work closely with Yearn’s developers, but his main focus is developing new projects. Some of these projects are related to Yearn and some are not. Andre sums up his relationship with Yearn and with investors [here](https://andrecronje.medium.com/unpacking-my-involvement-in-defi-cdb6479e337d).
- Is Andre still a part of the yearn team?
- Andre still works on things directly and indirectly related to yearn. But yearn is more of a network than a team.
- Will Andre Cronje come back as the main public figures behind Yearn.Finance?
- Yearn is a DAO as such there is no one person in charge. In fact, we have many devs who work on various things of their own initiative. While it is true that Andre started Yearn, the reason he launched the YFI token was to hand over the keys, so to speak, to others; therefore, Andre will not be coming back as the main lead dev for Yearn. Having said that, Andre does still work closely with Yearn’s developers, but his main focus is developing new projects. Some of these projects are related to Yearn and some are not, as they may not be suited for Yearn to develop. Andre is not paid by Yearn (despite our best efforts to pay him) and is not obligated to give Yearn anything, but he still does and he still actively works with the dev team. Andre sums up his relationship with yearn and with investors [here](https://andrecronje.medium.com/unpacking-my-involvement-in-defi-cdb6479e337d).
### User Interface
- What is the status of a more polished User Interface (e.g. Matcha)?
- x48 is working on front-end. Future Fund is working on designs. When designs are ready to be vetted by community they will be released and iterated upon
- x48 and Graham (and a number of other community members) are working on back-end/API development/metrics
- If you want to get involved in development, please reach out, we could use help!
- You are welcome to watch progress/provide feedback/request metrics in dev discord server
- Klim is working on refactoring Juan's subgraph to make it more digestable by the community
- Eventually we may add more metrics to the subgraph as well
- Could add governance staker information to subgraph, for instance
- Added support for "Blocknative Onboard" wallet connector (no more connectivity issues plz)
- Added support for "Blocknative Notifications," (like Curve and Zapper use)
- Added support for translations/internationalization
- Added support for dark/light mode/themes
- Currently adding integration with Drizzle to receive realtime contract updates
- Next step, vault building blocks and governance staking
- After that, implement community vetted navigation/styling
- After that integrate governance, other products, etc. Whatever the community wants
- Intention is to create a "Unified Yearn"
- What is the most up-to-date UI?
- Now y.finance redirects to yearn.finance so both are up to date.
- Also if you want to claim your ygov staking rewards you can do so at [ygov.rocks](https://ygov.rocks)
- What’s the difference between y.finance and yearn.finance?
- y.finance was temporary site. yearn.finance is now the up to date official site.
### Support
- Is anyone creating a repositaory of "official" information to direct new users to in order to troubleshoot technical difficulties?
- Official repository is Github. Other official repositories are [docs.yearn.finance](https://docs.yearn.finance) and ycosystem.info. [#support](https://discord.gg/8MEBWU8) is also your best bet for 'live' technical support.
### Translations
- Is anyone working on translating technical documents into other language?
- Yes see our [trello board](https://trello.com/invite/b/BKZLmU5O/a1dc2934e7c6ad7e6f8e0dabab9e6e36/yearn-translations) for updates.
### Price of YFI
- If Andre and company want YFI to have zero financial value, then does it not make more sense to eliminate/reduce the fees that flow to YFI for the sake of creating a clear line of demarcation between developers of Yearn (e.g. multi-sig) and the yield farming community (i.e. speculators)?
- First, there is no "Andre and company". Yearn is a decentralized collective group of contribtors. Second, Andre does not determine the price of YFI, regardless of what he desires or wants. The market does. He has no control over the price. No it does not make sense to remove fees to YFI holders, as they govern the protocol and it is necessary to align incentives of governors and incentivize them to continue managing the protocol.
- Is there any desire for putting a floor under YFI's price by charging people a fee if they withdraw their staked YFI early like less than 30 days to encourage a longer time horizon investor
- Needs a forum post to gauge sentiment but I don't think this will give YFI a floor.
- I don’t understand the notion of why price doesn’t matter when it’s the price of yfi that will keep governance from being co-opted by bad actors that want to manipulate governance for their own gain in the future after multisig isn’t in full control anymore. Higher YFI price protects the integrity of the project, the decentralization and the users... I think the narrative that price of YFI token can nuke into the ground is not very beneficial in the long run unless yearn plans to stay multisig governance.
- Obviously, price does matter so governance can run smoothly. Nobody is saying YFI will work fine if it's 1 cent, but the team is not focused on pumping the price, but building a better system and making our fundamentals solid. That is the way to get a nice long-term price appreciation, by building out the yearn ecosystem. Also there is no narrative that YFI price can fall to 0, we are just not focusing on tron style pumps.
### Grants / Payments / How to help out
- Is there talk of paying Andre in YFI considering it was his creation and he has mentioned ton a podcast that he regrets not having monetized yEarn?
- Yes rejected more than 3 times by Andre, he doesn't want to be paid, and instead wants to burn the minting keys.
- When burn?
- waiting on gov update
- I’m a software developer engineer. Is there a way to get a job at yearn.finance?
- Yes! Well, since yearn isn’t your average company, but a DAO, we work a little different than traditional companies. We encourage users to jump in and contribute where they can help out, and if you don’t know where that is usually the best place is to ask mods or join our discord. In discord we have channels set up for everything that needs developing. We give grants out once a month depending on how much and what someone has contributed, so if you’re actively contributing, you will get recognized and people will vote you a grant for your contributions. Those that are active frequently month-over-month can be recognized with a monthly grant as well.
- Do the yearn devs believe they have enough of a strong incentive to continue to build yearn and see it be successful? 2) What are your general thoughts on incentivization and onboarding of new devs to help with the product pipeline?
- We believe that the current incentives and pay the devs get is quite good and commensurate with a developer job in the cryptocurrency industry. Yes we believe it is a strong enough incentive for the devs to build out the yearn ecosystem. Having said that we are always looking for new ways to incentivize members of the community that are actively contributing. Recently there have been a few proposals on the forum that try to address this issue, I would suggest if you have any ideas on the matter to contribute to these threads [here](https://gov.yearn.finance/t/lets-build-a-bigger-warchest/7160) and [here](https://gov.yearn.finance/t/proposal-to-make-yfi-more-agile-and-provide-better-incentives-for-talent/7168). Yearn is community run so voice your opinion!
### Treasury
- Do we know yet when non-yCRV assets will be converted and sent to the governance rewards wallet to be claimable by YFI holders? We just surpassed $1 million in assets other than yCRV (like WETH, USDC, etc) waiting to be converted and claimable. That is quite a bit: ~$130 for every YFI staked in governance currently.
- No ETA at the moment, requires a revamp on certain contracts.
- This is in reference to `0x93a62da5a14c80f265dabc077fcee437b1a0efde` which is the treasury v1 contract.
## Ideas For Better workflow
* Knowledge base (For now, the knowledge base *is* this HackMD file)
* Open Questions
* Answered Questions
* When questions arise in discord, etc. just link to the answered question
* (Note that this seems to be a distinct need from the [Governance Knowledge Base](https://gov.yearn.finance/c/knowledge-base/11), and that it needs to be more living than [docs.yearn.finance](https://docs.yearn.finance/))
* It seems like the majority of questions are around the current state of execution.
* Help Wanted
* Blocking Issues
* E.g. outreach for a DAI strategy
* Find me devs for solidity
* If we want the yearn ecosystem to grow faster we need more devs.
* Non-technical help wanted
* This is distinct from GitHub which is Dev, Docs, and Docs Translation
* Community Outreach
* People to curate the above and refer the general community back to it
* some sort of call or direct line of communication w/ devs
* Weekly call with the devs (format TBD but seems that there'd be a mix of pre-canned questions as well as ethereum style discussion where the community can listen but not interrupt)
* an opportunity for the community to ask questions
* (could this be a bi-weekly Twitter AMA?)
* We currently have plans for monthly AMAs on Telegram. Did one last month and another planned toward the end of October.
