# Scaling Ethererum prizes
**Protocol Labs** is an open-source research, development, and deployment laboratory. Our projects include IPFS, Filecoin, libp2p, and many more. We aim to make human existence orders of magnitude better through technology.
We are a fully distributed company. Our team of more than 100 members works remotely and in the open to improve the internet — humanity’s most important technology — as we explore new advances in computing and related fields.
Protocol Labs has *four* prize options for scaling all the things, which it may choose to split up amongst multiple winners if too many of you build amazing projects:
* 💮 NFT Metadata Updater, $1875 in FIL: Mo minting, mo problems. Best method for managing signed permissioned and timestamped updates to NFT metadata stored on IPFS via any L2 chain
* 🏁 Filecoin Turbo Retrieval, $1875 in FIL: Best method of bundling, managing, warming up, pre-flighting or otherwise speeding up payment channel process for easy mass retrieval from Filecoin.
* ⛵️ Sailing the Sea of CIDs, $1875 in FIL: You're publishing everything to IPFS by default now, but... dude, where's my stuff? Best tool, service, website or library for working with large collections of IPFS CIDs.
* 🤝 Filecoin Super Disputer, $1875 in FIL: Disputing optimistic Window PoST proofs is a fun and profitable hobby, that also will impress your friends... but how to show off? Best prize for a disputer history visualizer, leaderboard or other panoramic view of this hot new community.
More details for all prizes [here](https://hackmd.io/dHL5Hkb-SdOtlxTw7d7P_w), and ask us in the channel for more info!
## NFT on IPFS Metadata Updates
Summary: 💮 NFT Metadata Updater - Best method for managing signed permissioned and timestamped updates to NFT metadata stored on IPFS
There are various NFT Metadata frameworks that reference storage on IPFS such as https://docs.opensea.io/docs/metadata-standards. However NFT Metadata is often kept offchain. Propose a way to update NFT Metadata (that references content on IPFS) using any L2 chain, demonstrating how Metadata updates can be signed, permissioned and timestamped, with a proof of concept.
## Filecoin Payment Channel Mega-Proxy
Summary: 🏁 Filecoin Turbo Retrieval: Best method of bundling, managing, warming up, pre-flighting or otherwise speeding up payment channels for mass retrieval from Filecoin.
Filecoin Retrieval uses payment channels, however fluctuating gas prices can make opening channels for retrieval requests expensive and slow. One idea is to build a payment channel mega-proxy that can pre-establish payment channels with many miners and service faster retrieval requests for data they host.
Assume a user wants to retrieve data from multiple miners. The user could establish a single payment channel with the mega-proxy. In exchange for vouchers from the user, the mega-proxy could provide equivalent vouchers from payment channels with other miners. This way the user only needs to establish one payment channel instead of multiple ones with many miners.
Research how to build this type of mega-proxy and provide a proof of concept. Feel free to submit any summary of research and attempts.
## Sailing the Sea of CIDs
⛵️ Sailing the Sea of CIDs: You're publishing everything to IPFS by default now, but... dude, where's my stuff? Best tool, service, website or library for working with large collections of IPFS CIDs.
## Filecoin WPost Proofs Disputer Leaderboard
Summary:
Filecoin optimistically accepts Window PoSt proofs on-chain, allowing them to be disputed later by off-chain verifiers. More details about how to run a Disputer are here: https://github.com/filecoin-project/lotus/discussions/5617#discussioncomment-387333. Research how you would extract the history of disputes from the chain and create a leaderboard of disputes, ideally as a website. Feel free to submit any summary of research and attempts.
