The community was formally established in fall 2019 with a community of like minded individuals. The Delft Open Hardware community started community activities and then the community memebers joined the with the Open Science Programme to establish the Open Hardware project within the Open Science Programme in 2020 with Santosh Ilamparuthi as the project lead, Jerry de Vos started as the first Research Hardware Engineer in November 2021.
We have had weekly meetings for the community members starting in 2019 first in person and moved online during the pandemic and have continued this till now."
