# Afternoon sessions on Wednesday
For Wed afternoon, we'll break out into different sessions based on preferences from the workshop poll.
Interactive session with whiteboarding and note-taking!
Talk with a group of people who have similar data types and study goals!
Think through experimental design and data analysis pipelines!
This is mostly about talking through experimental design, data analysis, and what kinds of data people are getting.
We'll have someone to take notes and they will be posted after the session.
## Rough schedule:
1. Meet and introduce (questions, data types)
2. Outline approach/protocol for major data type.
3. Discuss refinements based on specific questions and different data types
4. Discuss software names, inputs and outputs.
5. Discuss experimental design issues/concerns.
Have a great genome/transcriptome and some RNAseq data? We'll be doing a lot with that over the next few days so we are not doing a specific breakout session on that.
ChIP-seq? Niel will share his knowledge. Note taker? (Note that we will be doing a ChIP-seq and ATAC-seq tutorial Th/Fri.) - Room: 2060 Valley.
Have a genome, but not a great transcriptome? Attend "Constructing and/or updating a reference transcriptome" w/Elijah Lowe. (Note taker: Fotis) [HackMD notes](https://hackmd.io/MYUwLAjMAMBmCcBaAJtSiwDZkCZECMAOEfReeMHAZivmXgHZNMg=) Room: BEARS, 1047 Valley.
No genome? No transcriptome? Just some RNAseq? Attend "Building and annotating your own de novo transcriptome" with Lisa Cohen, Camille Scott, and Tessa Pierce. (Note Taker: Hadrien) [HackMD notes](https://hackmd.io/JwQwrG4MYgtATGA7ABlgFhQI3rEKATKWAMwIFMoBGJMAseANhKA=?view). Room: LIONS, 2020 Valley.
Study host-associated or environmental microbiology? Attend "Microbiome & Environmental 'omics." w/ Jon Badalementi, Phillip Brooks, Marian Schmidt, and guest star Trina Knotts! (Note takers: Jessica Mizzi & Amanda.) [HackMD notes](https://hackmd.io/CYBhwFgVgkFooE5EFM4QIaIOxw8AZgEZ1giNsAmIgNgiMpSA). Room: TIGERS, 2030 Valley.
What about variant analysis in large genomes? Adam Orr will be leading "Variant analysis revisited!" Nicole will take [HackMD notes](https://hackmd.io/IwUwxgTMDMBGCcBaEB2eLEBYwFYnrDEWgEMTNMJYAOAMxVhKA===#)! Room: 1030 Valley
Interested in non-coding RNA analysis? Attend "ncRNA studies" with Upendra! (Note taker: Shawn.) Room: 2065 Valley
How RAD is reduced representation sequencing? Attend the raddest discussion on RAD-Seq with Jeff Miller.(Note taker: Shannon)[HackMD notes](https://hackmd.io/EYBgnAHMDsBsDGBaesCGrEBYAm2DMiq8I2iApgIyrSZgBM02ArI0A===?both) Room: 2066 Valley.
