# OSLCfest message
Dear OSLCfest attendee,
Greetings from the OSLCfest organisers and the OSLC Member Section at OASIS! Thank you for joining us for this great event, it was great to meet you in Stockholm. We discussed a few topics during OSLCfest that we agreed to follow up and now is the time we can share the progress on some of them.
**Transition to an Open Project**
The most exciting thing that we heard throughout the OSLCfest that people were eager to contribute and we seeking for a simpler and more streamlined process to providing their contributions and making their voice heard on the topic that matter to them. After a few months of hard work, we are happy to announce that the OASIS OSLC Member Section is moving towards converting into an [OASIS Open Project](https://oasis-open-projects.org/) (big thanks to Jim Amsden from IBM as well as Chet Ensign, Carol Geyer and everyone else from OASIS for doing the heavy lifting). The process is still ongoing but once finished, you should be able to make contributions right after signing the CLA and you will be able to vote on the Project Governing Board without joining OASIS directly.
If you have any questions regarding the process, feel free to post your questions on the forum.
**OSLC Community Groups**
We discussed a lot about how can we make OSLC work for everyone and a common theme shared by many participants was to create a Community Group outside OASIS that would be able to discuss various issues and provide actionable feedback back to the Technical Steering Committees (TSCs) that will be used to develop normative documents.
I have made a post on the OSLC forum (link **TODO**) that summarises the discussion we had before and proposes a few ideas (especially around OSLC Profiles that were actively discussed). Please reply on that post (or email me or any other Steeting Committee member) to kick-start the process. We will do our best to help you set up a Community Group as fast as possible.
_Please note that this discussion around Community Groups happened before the OASIS Open Project option was even considered. There might be more reasons for you to directly join the Open Project instead._
On January 30, we will have an online call to discuss how can we make Lyo better so it be more useful to you in your daily OSLC tasks. Please post a reply to the corresponding topic (link **TODO**) and I will send you the call details via a private message.
This is it for now, looking forward to working with you!
(on behalf of the OSLCfest organisers and the OSLC Member Section)
