# 09/22/2022: E-Phys Recording Test

## Set-up:
* Grid: 20 degree
* Gridhole: P5R7
* Electrode:
* plastic guide tube was used
* Starting juice: 600 mL (50/50:water/juice)
* Gains: X - 180; Y - 250
* Electrode zero point: 3000 micrometers
## Procedure:
* To adress the issue of the elctrode bending last session, Ramon pierced the granulation tissue with a needle through the grid hole before inserting the guide tube/ electrode. Hopefully this will allow the guide tube and electrode to pass smooothly throught the tissue and present the electrode bending seen in the last two sessions. If we see the same issue today, we'll try again with a metal guide tube.
* At 7500 micrometers, we started Pollux on the AFC Rig A paradigm. The neurons that we are penetrating with the electrode as it is advanced appear to die shortly after being detected because the speaker will vocalize the spikes for several seconds then stop at which pint neurons at a distance can be heard at a low volume and observed at a low threshold on the Plexon computer.
* The electrode used today was the same electrode used in the previous 2 sessions for e-phys. We believe that this electrode is no longer functional because we should be hearing neurons fring at these depths, and we know it is not bent. We should measure the thickness of the grnulation tissue on the most revent and all future anatomical scans.

* 5500 - got 2 neurons and signal vanished
* 6000 - nothing
* 7000 - neurons are detected but they seem to only be detected at a distance
* 7500 - nothing, however just past this point the elctrode penetrated a neuron with a high/ strong firing rate
* 10,000 - neurons in the distance
* 12,000 - neurons in the distance
