# 09/13/2022: E-Phys Recording Test * Present: Ramon, Alexis, Neha, Hannah and Josh ## Set-up: * Grid: 20 degree * Gridhole: P5R7 * Electrode: * the bottom one of the 2 brackets on the advancer that holds the guide tube-electrode appartus in place is chipped (this could be the reason why it was knocked out of place during the last session [09/07]) * Neha and Ramon made the guide tube used yesterday [09/12] * the reference to the electrode is a needle that is in Pollux's chamber (filled with sterile saline) held stable by bone/granulation tissue * the monkey was again grounded to eliminate noise * the zero point for the electrode is 3,000 microns or 3mm * Gains: X - 195; Y - 250 * A log file was created for Pollux for this day that is on the Causal Globs log folder on the bc6 server. ## Procedure: * There was still an artifact of noise showing. We found that was coming from Pollux coming in contact with the juice rather than the juicer's movement. We advanced 3mm from the zero point/into the cortex. Pollux completed the "AFC Rig A" paradigm today. Josh and Ramon were troubleshooting in the rig, which led to Pollux getting very impatient and shaking a lot as well as stopping progress on the paradigm. We adjusted the magnification a lot to study the different waveforms that resulted. We did hit and record from a few cells. * While trying to adjust Pollux, he hit a needle used for the electrode reference, and it got stuck in the chair. While trying to locate the needle Pollux grabbed it and started chewing on the needle. We were able to get him to spit it out after less than a minute, and it appears it did not puncture his mouth. He did hit his head in the excitement and his front edge started bleeding a bit. Neha and Ramon cleaned it and made sure Pollux was okay then returned him to his cage.
