## International Circle
14/05/2020
### Check-in
Joe, Dan, Anni, Yvonne
### Objective of this circle:
*To mediate the relationships with our existing international partnerships*
#### Read over Anni's email on her thoughts on the aim of international circle
*Currently there's work happening in all campuses but lacking in conversation, no network connecting people together (mentorship, etc.)*
#### Clarifying questions
Joe: prioritisation of the listed objectives (from Anni's email), currently we have education, work opportunities, networking, what would it boil down to if it was just one thing?
Anni: quality of learning as number one objective - main focus is curriculum work happening without communication
Joe: there should be a common incentives between campuses
Yvonne: asks Dan to reflect on similar initiatives we've attempted in the past and why hasn't that evolved?
Dan: Talks about 2017-2020 of FAC's history
Yvonne: We should write down the specifics of structures that we tried to use to collaborate between locations in the past, highlight what worked and didn't work
Joe: last two CFs in Gaza have taken it into their own hands to rewrite the curriculum, any idea how that sits with GSG internally?
Dan's Q to Anni: At this poing, how should we flesh out objectives for this circle
Anni: As a director wants to take on this role of networking between campuses with support from this circle :slightly_smiling_face:
Dan's Q to Joe: what's a sensible first step for us to take, as a learning organisation, on how we should share our learning?
Joe: 1. Understanding how to share knowledge, should come with 2. each of the region feels equally empowered. In order to achieve this currently within Yalla sometimes is sidestepping GSG (due to their heirarchy).
Yvonne: Sharing our shortcomings, shift the perception from London knowing everything into London is here to learn as much from other campuses as they're learning from us
Anni in agreement with sharing learning
Anni thinks we could invite Gaza CFs + Haifa to join the call, connect and see how we can help without making decisions for them, also mindful of FAC apprenticeship timeline so utilising the next two months is high priority.
Action point: Anni to convene the next circle with the people she sees appropriate for a roundtable, possible candidates include:
- current Gaza CF (Mohammad)
- previous Gaza CF (Ali)
- current Al Khalil mentor (Haneen)
- current WebAhead programme manager (Shireen)
Joe's suggestion: it's best to communicate through a written agenda to break down lanugage barriers
Upcoming dates:
Roundtable: 28/05/2020
Follow-up circle: 04/06/2020
