# SE475 Design Journal - Week 5
### 10/11
This was the first time that our team had audio meeting. I had to stay up till 4am in my time zone in order to make it. I guess this could count as a very hands-on GSD experience. I am not sure if this happens a lot in the industry, but it makes sense that somebody has to compromise when dealing with geographical distance.
The meeting was quite smooth. We discussed the requirements and tried to come up with a design that is as simple as possible. Our team was responsible for designing the spin structure. I feel rather confident working with linked list, mostly because I have taken a couple of Ed's classes before and he is notoriously fond of using linked list.
### 10/12
One of our team members didn't attend the meeting, nor did he responded to any of our conversations. However, he became quite responsive after the meeting was over, coming up with many implementation ideas and eagerly trying to get things done. I guess it's a good thing that he particiapted more than in the first project, but I felt kind of frustrated by that somehow. If he could be this proactive, why did I have to message him constantly and wait a fairly long time for his reply in the first project? Why didn't he say anything before the meeting if he couldn't make it? We could have rescheduled for some other time so that everyone could attend.
But complaining won't do any good to anybody. Putting emotion aside, he did put in a lot of effort in completing the design doc. Eventually I helped created a UML class diagram based on the design and we finished the document.
