# 9 Oct 2020 — Secret Admirers call notes
- yearn structure
- yearn is more like a network than an organization
- YFI
- what are the boundaries of the governable space?
- yearn.finance? yes
- who does podcasts? this actually doesn't seem governable by YFI
- governs anything you deliverable on chain, and some other things too, but not super clear exactly what
- multisig
- a proxy for vote
- contributions
- It's best when people take initiative, yearn isn't suited for hand-holding or bossing
- need to make things clear to help people contribute:
- what is important for us?
- who is working on it?
- how to get involved
- current system is unintentionally complex, but a good gate for those that really care
- process of curating, when we bring people to specific groups, this is working but has tradeoffs
- YIPs
- technical scalability with how gov works blocking this now
- currently the old system still works and people could do on-chain votes, but there is a lot of overhead and we're kind of in limbo until the next system is built but vaults v2 take dev team priority
- forum
- need better templates for posts
- for strats, need to know specific things, like how much money
- need to compare ROIs
- Voting on Strategies
- There is currently a technical bottleneck for the strat dream
- in future there could be a strat DAO or strat council that reviews and approves strat proposals
- Possible Process
- Can discuss strats in discord / telegram
- First proposal to startDAO
- needs real analysis showing it's a good idea
- have to do research that shows it's a good idea, this is more important than money
- stake tribute to avoid wasting time
- second proposal
- full implementation
- stratDAO would do a code review
- dev team shouldn't look at anything earlier than something's about to get attached to the vault
- needs a process before this, an economic layer, to review the idea
- Someone like Tarun to evaluate economic value of a strat
- need Gauntlet to do economic analysis, or there is tooling available, like CADCAD
- Is Gauntlet more for Maker scale though? strats are smaller
- comms tools
- telegram groups
- need ability to kick people and groups
- is it ok to map the groups and the rules to get in?
- we are not an org, we're a network, these are independently run groups
- by mapping them you just make FOMO, but good to explain they are there and they are not official -- anyone can make an eg YFI Brand group and start working
- best process is to start contributing wherever you are and people will want to work with you and invite you to groups
- or start your own group
- but it's best to clarify how this works so
- easier for people to join
- less like a cartel
- less overhead
- The comms role
- no spokesperson, we are not an org. a network doesn't have one voice
- no point in a comms group speaking for yearn
- better to have a writers group and a mods group
- no group that decides what yearn says
- no official yearn statements?
- what about twitter, medium, etc.
- twitter can just retweet -- make it a bot for certain people with a hashtag
- official statements that aren't retweets
- security post as a result of a process
- need to make clear what these are
- medium
- publish guest writers
- what is process?
- conflict remediation process
- to do
- Klim is the honorary bad guy
- growth and adaptation
- tension-driven instead of speculative and preemptive
- project management
- problem: make it as easy as possible for others to self-organize
- put all tasks in open github kanbans and use zen hub option if we need more
- make it all publicly visible, anyone can grab a card and start contributing
- salary
- didn't formalize responsibilities
- formalized roles or not?
- legal status of payments / social contract
- gitcoin style grants
- two types of payments in a network
- retroactive rewards
- proactive payments for deliverables
