Miss Cheers: This report... YOU NEED TO ALL REMEMBER STATISTICS!!!!! WHO DID YOU SURVEY? STATS like....1/3 of people questioned stated that..../ 90% of people said that/ only 30% of people currently....
Katrina: This report is focused on whether more people could/ should (could means possibility) walk or cycle in my local area. So, I did a survey and asked 20 people in different ages and pedestrian count in Wimbledon. two third of local people usaully take public transport rather than walk or cycle. most of them said that take public transport is quicker than walk, especially when they need to go work. And the others said they don't know how to ride a bike or they have bad legs so that they won't choose to walk or cycle for the firt choice. Secondly, 60% of the pedestrians thinks that the weather in UK is poor because UK weather always rain which stops them to walk and cycle. Also, 1/3 of people which some of them are student or people who need to work that they don't want to be late.
On the other hand, walking and cycling isn't always worse than driving or travelling by public transport. Firstly, walking and cycling are exercise which is good for your body. Additionally, eventhough walking and cycling cannot replace transports but generally they are good hobbies to do.Also, fewer to travel by transport also good for environment because less carbon dioxide is produce which slower global warming happens. So, walking and cycling also have quite lots of adventages.
Julia:
This report is about to show the result that (no, the report is feeding back So you have already found out) whether more people could walk or cycle in my local area.
I did a simple interview to students and teachers about how they've attend to school everyday in Woldingham. As a result, 70% of people in the school are using cars, other 30% of minorities are walking or cycling. More specificly, most of people who chose walking or cycling are students, just had few students said they are normally caring by their parents' cars, and many teachers who are the representative of adults chose cars.
As you can see, group of people who have got driving licenses, which are adults would think drive is more convenient than walking or cycling. When the weather is extremely hot or cold, people are easily going to be lazy to go out and "escape" into cars. When it is raining or snowing, most of people will definitely giveup to walking or cycling, and choose to using cars or other transportations like bus, subway and taxi. However, students are still children. Even the weather is awful, some playful children will choose to go out and play. One student in Woldingham who I have interviwed said cycling is amusing, even if the weather is not allowed her to cycling, she will hazard to go out with her bicycle. Lots of people in UK may think that children are lazier than adults, but in my result, it shows that the lazier one is adult, in the contrary children are more likely to go out and do more exercises.
Driving a car is more convenient than walking or cycling. However, walking and cycling are more benefit our lives and the environment of the earth. Driving can discharge a lot of bad elements to the air. If more people are using cars, the air pollution will be worsen. Therefore, walking and cycling which can not give any harms to the earth are better than driving a car. Moreover, if you can constantly walks or ride bycycles, they will definitely benefit your health. According to my result, people who chose walking and cycling are much healthier than who chose driving cars to school. As a result, changing to walking or cycling are either can benefit ourselves and the earth.
Imm : This report is focused on the use of transport in Bangkok.
Underground is the most popular type of transportation nowadays. Based on the research carried out by the geologists, two thirds of people in this area are using underground to commute to their work in the morning as it's designed to start their journey early in the day.
The bitter truth is that pollution has been a crucial issue in today’s world. It's the main reason that stops people from walking or cycling. The scientists from Cambridge University suggested that polluted air and cause heart disease, lung-cancer, emphysema and others severe diseases.
However, walking or cycling instead of using private cars will have a significant change in both physical and environmental ways. First of all, it has been proved that sitting in the car for long hours can cause health problem. Second, the number of people using their private cars has increased for 20% from 2018. This creates congestion and traffic jam which leads to an unhappy journey.
jennifer: the following report is going to talk about (you are not! Don't make it personal- remember a report form) uses of transport in my local area. local people are now currently going to work by subways because subways are quick and practical. It saves them time.
According to the survey carried out by students in oxford, 65% of local people prefer to drive their own cars instead of walking and cycling even if the distances are short. Due to the sluggish lifestyle and passive ways people have nowadays, walking and cycling aren't their first choices anymore.
People could gain benefits from walking and cycling if they change their ways. Based on the research scientists did, walking and cycling could maintain a strong heart and muscle on your legs, 70% of local people have more powerful lower body power than those who rarely walk and cycle. They even help losing weight and build up immune system.
Anna: This report focuses on the use of transport in my local area and whether more people could (should!) walk or cycle.
A survey which has been done recently by our group (say you did it! In response to the teacher asking you to write a report) shows that most of the people nowadays prefer to public transport , roughly 35% of the UK population travels by subway and 25% travels by bus. This is probably because of the convenience and cheapness it provides, and also to avoid traffic jam and delays in the journey.
However, there is still a considerable amount of people who travel privately by car everyday. Cars account for 34% of nitrogen dioxide released into our atmosphere which causes acid rain, they also release carbon monoxide which can even cause death.
Scientists have suggested people to walk or cycle rather than taking private transport. The main reason that stops people from walking and cycling might be that they want to save their time or simply cannot be bothered to walk, whereas the benifits of walking and cycling is significant,
One of the most important benefits is that you may decrease the possibility of you getting heart disease. Moreover, it is beneficial for your mental health as well. Studies show that people who choose to walk or cycle have a 30% lower rate than who do not.
