# Notice of Inactivity Hey everyone. I'll preface this by saying I'm cross posting this to many different places, so some things may apply here but not elsewhere, or vice versa. Anyway, as many of you know, I've been sick since 2012, and I dropped out of college. I've never had a proper job, and things like Reddit and Discord moderation have essentially been all that's kept me going, all that I've had to occupy my day. That's about to change. No, I'm not leaving. I'm not quitting Reddit/Discord moderation in general, nor am I leaving here specifically. However, the amount of time I can dedicate is going to drastically reduce, at least for a certain period of time. At the moment, I am preparing to join a full-time course in software engineering. This will be an in-person course, spanning 3 months, starting March 23. It's a 9 to 5 course, with expected extra hours for homework. So it will be extremely time consuming for me. What this means for all of my moderation work and other online volunteer work, is that I will likely be available only a couple times a day. I will respond to any DMs, but I may ignore role pings or here/everyone pings. If anything is urgent, please DO still DM me. As long as it's not during class hours, I can most certainly spare like 5 minutes to address things. But I do ask that you be patient with me, as this is all very new to me. Not just this course in particular, but having any kind of daily schedule. Since dropping out of college in 2012 due to poor health, I haven't had a daily schedule of any kind. So it's been the better part of a decade for me, and it's a big deal. Now why am I telling you all this now? It's still mid January after all. Well there's about 40 hours worth of pre-course work that I need to do, and it's due by the end of this month. In addition, I have a dogsitting job lined up from the 22nd to the 27th. So I'll obviously be quite busy for the rest of this month as well. I'll be able to spare a few minutes here and there of course, and obviously I'll take breaks and stuff (I'm not a robot of course). So it's not like I won't be reachable. It's just that I can't dedicate a lot of time to volunteer stuff right now. If it'll take 5-10 minutes of my time (or less), I can definitely do it, no worries. If it will take longer though, I ask that you try and get things to work yourself before coming to me. As I mentioned, I am posting this in multiple places, but if the place you're reading this is a place where I am the top person in charge, please know that I will trust the team's judgement during times I am busy. As for February, that is yet to be known. The pre-course work is due before February, but I do need to do other preparations as well. I don't know the full details yet, but I will give updates if there are further times between the start of February and the middle of March in which I will be less available. Again, the course begins on March 23, and runs for 3 months. After that, I intend to start job hunting. I'm frankly tired of being a good-for-nothing 26 year old living with thier parents and having no income, so I'm doing something about it. This was the path I decided on. After the course itself is over, I expect to still be fairly busy, but not literally all day every day busy. I expect to spend a few hours a day applying for jobs and doing related preparations for that. But I will still be reachable during that time (Late June and onwards) more than during the course itself. As I said, the course is 9 to 5, but I have to travel there and back home, which is about an hour each way, plus there will be homework. So it's basically an all waking hours commitment. As for the future of the Discord, Reddit, and other volunteer activities go, I still plan to stick around and work with you guys as long as I am able. If/when (hopefully when!) I get a job, I'm sure it won't be as time intensive as the course, because obviously while it'd likely be 9 to 5 or so, it won't require homework, so I'll of course be more free then. So really, this is just a temporary time that I'll be a lot less available. Reiterating, from the time of writing (mid-January) until the end of January, I will be busy working on around 40 hours worth of pre-course work, as well as dogsitting from the 22nd to the 27th. February is unknown as of yet, but will update if there are extremely busy times. I just don't know yet. The course begins on March 23 (as long as everything goes well, of course) and runs for 3 months, until late June. I wanted to let everyone here know what's going on, so I don't just disappear without a word. Again, please feel free to DM me if anything urgent comes up. I can't put hours and hours into things, but I can definitely spare a few minutes here and there. Everything I've done with volunteer work in these communities over the years means a great deal to me, and I don't want to throw that away. I still want to be there for everyone, to the best of whatever my current ability is. Thanks for reading all this. One final note is that if anyone does request my presence but isn't aware of my current situation, if you can just let them know I'm rather busy these days, I'd appreciate it. Thanks so much.
