# Billing Analysis

Please compare 3 months of Azure billing and highlight what services & prices changed. We would like to compare the cost/services from June, July, and August, to see where costs have increased or decreased and to see what services have been added or retired.

**Data description**
In terms of the detail behind the billing, please read the descriptions in Column A for each month, which should give you a good indication of what the spend is for, e.g. backup, ExpressRoute charges, file charges, blob storage, log analytics, MS Defender services, managed disks, virtual machines, virtual network egress and ingress charges, VPN Gateway fees, etc.

Column B shows the unit of measure e.g. per hour or 100-hr blocks, by quantity, by size of data (eg 100GB) or storage (1 TB/month). Column C is the amount/quantity consumed, followed by columns for unit price and total charge.

## Major cost increase

***Total Cost by Category (indicated by First Word) for Each Month***: This plot displays the total charges for each service category from June to August. Services are grouped into categories based on first word of their names; for instance, all items beginning with 'Azure' are classified under the 'Azure' category, which includes 'Azure Arc,' 'Azure DNS,' 'Azure Firewall,' and others. The graph indicates that the majority of costs are attributed to 'Virtual Machines' and 'Microsoft Defender' services, both of which experienced a significant cost increase in August.
