# IndiGo Sets Sights on New Heights: 112 Million Passengers Expected in 2024

India's leading budget airline, IndiGo, has set an ambitious target for 2024, aiming to transport a staggering 112 million passengers. This projection reflects the airline's robust growth trajectory and its unwavering commitment to meeting the surging demand for air travel within India.  

IndiGo's CEO, Pieter Elbers, shared this optimistic outlook, highlighting the airline's remarkable journey and its plans for the future. "2024 has been a year filled with incredible milestones," Elbers stated in a LinkedIn post. "IndiGo celebrated its 18th anniversary, launched IndiGoStretch and a loyalty program, and placed an order for Airbus A350-900 widebody aircraft."  

This year, IndiGo has witnessed an impressive surge in passenger traffic, solidifying its position as the market leader with a commanding 63.3% market share. This growth underscores the increasing reliance on air travel within India and the pivotal role played by budget carriers like IndiGo in making air travel accessible to a wider segment of the population.  

As IndiGo continues to expand its network and enhance its services, the airline is poised to play an even more significant role in shaping the future of air travel in India. With a focus on affordability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction, IndiGo is well-equipped to meet the evolving needs of the Indian aviation market and drive the industry to new heights.
