# Symbol Team Updates, Aug 2021 | Issue #001
### Week ending August 28th, 2021
Despite it being the holiday season for many, the Symbol developers have been hard at work. Here we have compile the key technical updates for the week ending August 28th. All information in this summary is also available in the [Symbol Discord channel](discord.gg/xymcity).

## August 23, 2021
Bassem started the week off in the right way by attending some meetings, reviewing a couple of PRs and working on general fixes.

Blackbeard "The Surgeon" also reported on fixing linter issues, adding tests to the CPP SDKs. His GitHub handle is [@momo10101](https://github.com/Momo10101).

[Baha](https://github.com/yilmazbahadir) updated the team on his meetings, PRs, and the other desktop-wallet issues he had been working on.


## August 24, 2021

This all comes on the tail of the hot news last week when core developer Gimre announced that the developers would be working on creating a Rosetta-api layer for both the NEM and Symbol blockchains! Rosetta is what is needed for Coinbase integration. See here for more info: https://rosetta-api.org/

## August 25, 2021
Baha reported spending Tuesday in a meeting and working on a wallet issue. His GitHub handle is @yilmazbahadir if you'd like to see more of his work. Bassem and Blackbeard "The Surgeon" were also busy, but with refactoring, SDK work, and examining a Ledger X issue. CryptoBeliever (Twitter: https://twitter.com/cryptoBeliever_) also joined them with Symbol desktop wallet testing, joining the daily wallet meeting and working on support emails.

## August 26, 2021
NexLev was back with more updates on Athena, dividing up his work into the design system itself, the website, and the design tokens/frontend integration. He works closely with Oleg, whose GitHub handle is @OlegMakarenko:


NexLev was soon joined by Baha and CryptoBeliever who wanted to share what they'd been doing. Both reported on spending the 25th working on multisign bonded sonar issues and combing through feedback. Fernando worked on Rosetta implementations, and NikolaiB did some testing related to the invoice and import QR code features.

## August 27, 2021
With a busy week drawing to a close, Sureka Jawahar reported on her work in meetings and fixing release pending issues. Her GitHub handle is @surekabpm if you'd like to follow more of her work. NexLev brought the team up to date with Oleg's presentation of the Figma -> Design Tokens -> GitHub -> Web pipeline. Competitive website analysis has been undertaken, and now design and content options are being explored.

And it was our very own Blackbeard "The Surgeon" who brought the week to a productive end, bringing us up to speed with his work refactoring the SocketTestUtils, which had previously depended on catapult/net. He also added back tests that were not dependent on SocketTestUtils either. A Ledger debugging issue heralded the start of the weekend.
