Mystery of Graev'ex
New Game Pitch
This is a click-and-drag RPG horror visual novel (set in the 1800s) featuring a detective named Elizabeth (Liz) O'Connel who takes on a case investigating missing people in the state of Montana. People are doubting her abilities since she's both a woman and 6 months pregnant, so she's determined to prove them wrong. The mysterious disappearances have almost no connections to each other save for the reason… They were all invited aboard a luxury train for a short holiday and were promptly never heard from again.
- The train is a mimic monster that is sentient & intelligent. They use the appearance of a train to farm humans as a food source. It controls the less aggressive and more fearful humans as "staff members" to fool new passengers. The humans that fight back are eaten immediately to reduce risk of cover being blown.
- Liz can use different items and weapons during the game to solve any QTE (Quick-Time Events) that may happen during the story. This includes things such as: choosing the wrong action -> you have been discovered -> use the mouse to aim the gun at the enemy to shoot them (time limited).
- Some people have not been eaten yet, you will need to save them, which is the goal of the game.
- There is a safe area where you can save your progress. It's a supply closet that Liz will use to store the items she can't hold in her inventory. There she will discover a small robotic creature that can see whenever the train is watching and help the detective stay safe.
- The more QTE's you trigger (alerting the enemies etc.) the more your insanity meter will go up. Head to the storage room to play the music box, improving your sanity.
Game Pitch? (old)
Our team consists of Chris, Jannah and Lucy and we will be developing the game (Graev'ex's Train?). This will be click and drag roleplay game, where the player is following along the story of Elizabeth (Liz) O'connel. A first generation Irish-American female detective who just so happens to be 6 months pregnant, is undercover following the Graev'ex cult. A large amount of people within Montana have gone mysteriously missing however, they all have one thing in common the new rising Graev'ex cult.
The player will be exploring a steam train that has been taken over by the cult to be used as transportation of all the people who have gone missing, later to be "disposed of". With each cart the player will slowly enravel the mystery of the cult, finding new suprises with each cart they walk in to.
We have taken inspiration from Games such as Corpse Party, Red Dead Redemption 2, Fears to Fathom - Ironbark Lookout, Professor Layton and Bioshock Infinate. This game will fall under the pyschological horror theme.And will be rated 18+ due to the pyschological thriller content within the game.
Character
Our player will be playing as Liz O'connel. She is a first generation Irsih-American fighting her way to the top in the detective workforce, after much scrutany from her work colleuges in the local sherrifs office Liz is on a mission to prove herself. Due to the fact she is a woman as well as six months pregnant, the office do not believe in her ability to become a strong detective
