## What is Akash network?
A decentralized marketplace for cloud computing. You rent out cloud computing from providers who are payed from an escrow account. Please read now: https://docs.akash.network/design.
**Can I mine with Akash?**
Akash is a POS token, there is no mining involved. You stake your AKT with validators to earn rewards.
**Is Akash network a get rich quick scheme?**
No.
**Will the discord mods answer my questions?**
Maybe. Depends on how busy they are and what the question is.
## Supermini:
**Where do I buy?**
Not available right now.
**Where does the supermini works, all over the world?**
Yes, the supermini will work anywhere so long as there is electricity and internet
**How can I earn with the supermini?**
The supermini is a concept idea (not yet available) which allows you to offer resources for deployments on the Akash Network.
**What is the price of the supermini?**
Cost around $1000usd at the time. Wait until Q3 for announcements. https://akash.network/supermini/
## Akash token:
**Where do I buy?**
AscendEX, BitMart, DIGIFENIX and gate.io
**What payment methods are available?**
Cryptocurrencies(tether, bch, btc ...) and credit card
**How do I deploy?**
You need at least 5,000,000uakt (5 akt) to deploy to the mainnet. Testnet is not active but you can test on mainnet,
which requires a bit over 5akt to create an escrow with a provider (you get most of this back when you close the deployment)
Read all the documentation, allofit! :). Ask deployment specific questions in #deployments. https://docs.akash.network/
**How do I become a validator?**
You need to be in the top 64 or so nodes that have tokens delegated to them for a payout. This could cost hundreds of thousands. If you're serious about this, ask current validators at #validators-mainnet. https://docs.akash.network/guides/node/validator
**How do I become a provider?**
You need at least 50,000,000uakt (50 akt) to provide to the mainnet, as well as a machine with the right specifications. Testnet is not active. Ask at #providers. https://docs.akash.network/guides/provider
**What exactly is the purpose of AKT?**
To briefly summarize the purpose of AKT:
https://akash.network/blog/the-earning-potential-of-akash-token/
1. it's the unit of exchange so transactions on the network will all be denominated in AKT
2. Security and governance b/c proof of stake
3. Token economics, where two major components are at play:
a) Earnings potential of the token where the 20% take rate is distributed to all akt stakers (not yet implemented)
b) AKT subsidies as outlined in our whitepaper
## Staking on Akash
**How do I earn staking rewards?**
Delegate tokens to a validator. For non technical people: Use Keplr or Cosmostation. For technical people: use akash cli. https://docs.akash.network/guides/general-commands
The rewards are about 52-55%/year based on the validators node that you choose. Rewards are on each block, so real-time.
**How much AKT is staked on the network?**
Currently 83.51% of the tokens are staked. https://www.mintscan.io/akash/
**Are rewards auto compounded?**
You need to withdraw, then delegate to your validator(s) to compound your rewards - it is not automatic
