Kate: How to make the group community led
Kate: Very keen to work on real world issues on how to move towards equivalence and federation; flag best practice/success stories - things that would help us do our jobs better
Thoughts on where we'd like to go in next couple of months based on previous conversations - focus groups over next few months driven by co-chairs, and then later driven by community.
Risk framework group (planned to discuss in June) - first met last week - goal to present something in September conference.
If interested in joining group to develop - please get in touch with Pete: peter.barnsley@crick.ac.uk
Rules to principles based frameworks (discussion for July). Feeling like ticking off lists of rules. Move towards overarching principles - your system is different to my system, but they can achieve the same thing. e.g. Safe Researcher Training
Skills Framework (August) - for IG professionals working with TREs - what training/accreditation is out there?
Interest in
Risk Management x3
Rules/Principles x2 https://uwe-repository.worktribe.com/output/940066
Skills/training for IG x4 - signposting on where to go, what extra skills (beyond research governance/ISO compliance)
Risk management/appetite - context is important -how do we broaden the context from project by project to - need to consider reputational issues too, what would be most important. ISO standard is great place to start.
Want to work out what works, not just draw more models.
Next steps:
Co-chairs will
reach out to interested people and have check in meetings.
put out some engagement ideas for future meetings so you can rank what is most important to you.
PPIE activities will be coming - not quite sure exact form, but we have some time to plan, probably at the end of the year. Please flag if you have a burning issue you think public voices could help form your thinking on, or a preferred format of PPIE you think would work best for IG issues.
There is some funding available from DARE UK to do some of this work - call will be going out in next few weeks.
