# Engaging the Fedora Community: Survey on user's success stories and product feedback
Hi everyone :smile:!
My name is Winifred Shima and I'm participating in the Outreachy internship.
Since my tech journey started, I have benefited from [open-source](https://opensource.com/open-source-way) softwares and it is an honor to be accepted into the outreachy program to contribute to an open-source project.
Open-source projects like Fedora take their community very seriously and prioritize the user feedback because it aids and shape the future of their solutions.
Having this knowlegde, I'm excited to work on this amazing project for my Outreachy contribution: **conducting a survey to on user's success stories and gather feedback from Fedora contributors like you!**
## What is the Goal of this project?
:bulb: This survey aims to collect two key pieces of information:
1. **Success Stories:** We want to hear how Fedora has empowered you! Share a specific example of how Fedora helped you achieve your goals, whether it was a personal project, professional work, or something else entirely.
2. **Product Feedback:** Let us know your thoughts on specific Fedora products you currently use, such as Workstation, or more general areas like documentation or ease of use. Your honest feedback is important for guiding the future of Fedora solutions.
## What is the Process?
We'll be creating a survey with few open-ended questions to collect both qualitative and quantitative data. We're targeting Fedora contributors of all experience levels, so don't hesitate to participate whether you're an experienced Fedora user or just starting out.
The survey will be distributed through various channels:
* Different open-source communities
* The Fedora discussion forum ([https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/](https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/))
* Fedora social media channels
* My Social networks
Once these responses are collected, a comprehensive report summarizing the key takeaways will be done. This report will be shared back with the Fedora community through the same channels we used for distribution.
## How can you get involved?
Keep an eye out for the survey announcement, which will be announced soon! Your participation is valuable and cannot be overemphasised. The more responses we receive, the richer the data will be, allowing us to have a clear understading of the Fedora community's experiences and pain-points.
We also encourage you to share the survey within your own networks to spread the word and get as many responses as possible!
## Why does this matter?
By sharing your success stories and feedback, you'll be playing a vital role in shaping the future of Fedora. Your insights will help the project continue to provide useable solutions and resources that help users like you.
## Timeline
Here is the timeline I am proposing for this project:
* Phase 1: Preparation and Design (1 week) - Designing a graphic flyer and follow up content for the form announcement.
* Phase 2: Announcement and Promotion (3 weeks) - Sharing the survey and encouraging participation.
* Phase 3: Analysis and Insights (3 weeks) - Analysing the feedback and generating actionable insights for the respective teams.
* Phase 4: Sharing and Action (Ongoing) - Preparing the blog post for our findings and pushing feedback to the respective teams
> 📌 blog post can be more, if some of the feedbacks require an understanding on some processes.
I'm eager to contribute to the Fedora community through this project. Together, we can make Fedora an even better experience for everyone!
