### Member Update - Oct 2022
Welcome all to the next wave of Community building in Ethereum. You are an advocate for Community-first, a renegade of new systems, and a builder.
We officially deployed the DAO on-chain and never got around to welcoming all our new members!
#### If you're new to Wgmi...
We're on a mission to bring more Community professionals to web3. Our goal is to (1) give experts in the space of developer communities, NFT, DAO, and DeFi communities a safe space to connect. (2) Our focus is to onboard the next generation of Community Professionals into the Ethereum ecosystem.

### Ok, I'm a Member... now what?
#### First things first, Welcome to Wgmi!
We're not allocating DAO shares to every member of the Community. The way we see it— we need the best DAO minds, and Community minds to have governance weight in the early decision-making process of Wgmi. That being said, you have been selected and allocated a DAO share because we find your guidance extremely valuable to our development. We appreciate you and are excited to bring you along for this adventure.

### Channels:
Why do we have various places to connect? Shelling points essentially? Well, I blame it on ourselves. The innability to have a one-stop shop platform for everything and every situation makes it difficult to grab people when we need them. Community management is about connecting; not distancing, finding peace with a group of people; not shilling or weighing down your tribe.
How it works...
Telegram is used for quick engagement, specific event management or project management that is executed more efficiently outside of Discord structures.
Discord is where we bring our Community and establish governance with DAO members. There is a general community where folks can discuss community management strategies, job opportunities, connect with peers who are struggling to build their communities. As they seek to contribute to Wgmi DAO, there are permissioned channels for those who (1) have contributor governance or (2) DAO member governance. These channels are not meant to keep individuals out of the conversations, but instead maintain focus for the community building aspect.
