# 20220519 WG Governance
## Agenda - see slides
### Compliance & Antitrust guidelines read and requested to comply with
was read out by Lars
### Election
- some research & prep has been done in the meantime, asking around verticals etc.
- Campaigning open until May 12th
- Election planned for today on 19th - as many people are in a parallel meeting, usage of next cloud's poll team has been suggested and postponing it.
- Action taken is to wrote a mail, explaing that voting the chair for the lead will be done via poll tool.
- Co chair is still being researched prior for that vote. Domink, Bert and Lars will drive this. Candidates engaged in a Data Space initiative would leverage synergies greatly.
### Update governance document & sheet
Mark (lead) is not with us today.
There is a need for a documented result from this group soon.
Silvia thinks that common understanding of data space and gaia-x governance is needed. Scope is unclear also in other discussions. 4 layers is a great approach. Silvia agrees with some parts, disagrees with others.
Michael suggests this could be framed as an interim status to frame the role of Gaia-X. It is progressive, accurate and would also invite others to participate here.
Could also help sharpen Gaia-X value proposition by serving as a mental framework.
Sadly no activitity in the folder of this sub-wg in the last 2 weeks; this is an issue for this wg.
Todo: all participants should review the 4 layers.
Document should be finalised around these layers.
BDVA data week takes place over 3 weeks.
Lars will ask Mark to have pre-final version of this paper by June 3.
Futher DSBC call tomorrow to align on documents (ie Lukas K, Thomas H, Sebastian S, Lars N).
### Intervie campaign - status, feed back, accelerate
Have to chase ecosystem verticals and other orgs.
Result 1:
Once table is filled, we can have a synthesis and identify gaps to be adressed.
Result 2: what is most relevant?
Report of this together with Marks document would be a nice deliverable.
### Update sub WGs
Should merge both documents now, as there seems to be overlap.
Also, information has to be double-checked with the associations.
-> What is the accurate info: that in the reviewed docs or in your responses?
Frank:
There has been considerable work done on his document.
### Next steps / AOB
- Announce and prep Chair / Co Chair election
- Meeting with Mark, Frank, Lars to discuss
- merging documents
- to create preliminary draft by end of june
- review with broader community
- hock our work with DSBC & lighthouse projects
- Identify controversal terms to
- describe and reflect in above paper
- try to gain alignment or abstraction
- Lars to create link to Stefan Ettel's driven test bed with Event Storming
- To keep pace, one reason might be that involvement from Data Space initatives is now needed. ToDos above are prep in regards to approach and invite them to engage more with us.
- Lars will drive getting input via DSBC etc.
- Meeting next week to be dropped due to publich holiday in Munich - to be considered in election mail etc.
## Notes from chat
[14:12] Frank Ingenrieth
instead of email, please, let us use the poll tool
[14:15] Frank Ingenrieth
no ideas, but I agree that we should aim for some diversity, also in accordance with the OPH re the canditates (to the extent possible)
[14:22] Frank Ingenrieth
do we have a link to the full-fleshed paper that is being drafted?

Glossary i think it is really a good idea. We are starting the Gaia-X Sub-WG Data Exchange Services and it is clearly the first "issue" because we are not speaking about the same thing when we take some concept ... the classical Data owner definition
like 1
[14:40] CALVEZ Philippe (ENGIE SA)
a thing in itself - very nice described
if there is multiple Glossary initiatives (and it is) - a semantic link between concept and definition could help to merge to a shared vision.
[14:51] Frank Ingenrieth
always fascinated on the level of detail and the amount of events you are outlining in your board

sorry, need to drop. appreciate the exchange and agree: we have significant progress in all three taskforces, we now need to align and get the external input.
