# WG Governance 20220428 ## Agenda 1) Antitrust Statement & Intro (5’) 2) Start of election process of WG Chair and Co-Chair (5’) 3) Update Governance document and sheet (15‘) – Mark Dietrich 4) Update Event-Storming Sub-Working Group (15’) – Michael Leibfried 5) Alignment of the three individual sub-working groups, AOB re 1) Antitrust statements read and ack by all re 2) Election process as explained and presented - Timeboxes require a start of the election process - campaining period open until May 12 (30 days or at least two meeting periods - Then leave voting toll open for 10 days - so we would have results by May 22nd - Expression of interest of candidates - Lars would be happy to run again as chair - Lukas suggests for the co-chair there should be an industrial player, i.e. a company what is working on data spaces in effect - Lars seconds this idea - Mark Dietrich nominated Lars; Bert responded that candidates would have to candicate themselves (which Lars did) - Suggestion from Michael that industr rep should ideally be able to differentiate between representing aparticular data space initiative and the role of the WG Governance focus - Suggestion by David that the call for candidacy should also be send to all members of the WG - Suggestion election process should also be brought to next tuesday DSBC meeting - Update Governance document and sheet - Mark presents current state of table with questions - Challenge is to get answers for questions from different actors, eg IDSA or Catena-X - Conclusions of that will go into Governance document - Further discussions how to involve different experts from these actors and answer the questions as there is room for more progress - Event Storming - Brief explanation of the event storming tool by Michael - Still need to reduce complexity further for some participants - There is an explanatory slidedeck in the sub wg folder to get started - End of meeting - Dominik jumps in and says there is no 30 day period but that 2 meetings suffice, for some groups one meeting would be enough as well but the writer understands this is not the case for this working group. In any event, the election process shall be democratic and fair. Chat: [14:11] Mark Dietrich (EGI) (Guest) I nominate Lars to be Chair! heart 1 [14:12] Verdonck, Bert That is not how it works Mark - they need to candidate themselves first [14:12] Mark Dietrich (EGI) (Guest) I offer myself to lead the SubWG I am leading (subject to agreement of the many) [14:14] Mark Dietrich (EGI) (Guest) It is like posting the bans of marriage!  "If there is anyone here present who objects to this marriage, speak now or forever hold your peace." laugh 1 like 1 [14:16] Frank Ingenrieth Re subWG - do we really consider the breakouts subWG? They are working on a partial contribution to the overarching deliverables? If there isn't a mandatory interpretation to make the breakouts subWG, we should rather consider them taskforces, as this will ensure that decisions are subject to this WG and not outsourced. Just thinking out loud and happy to accept whatever this group may decide on this matter today [14:17] Mark Dietrich (EGI) (Guest) @Frank -- I have no interest in being a formal SubWG leader -- but happy to do this if it is necessary! [14:17] Michael Leibfried Naming them subWG has been very key to the COO. So, I just think about it as an interims peer group, but I suggest to keep namings as they are [14:18] Verdonck, Bert No need to create subWG bureaucracy, let's stay focused on the content work that is going on... so yes, taskforces rather, who bring back progressed deliverables to the WG. like 1 [14:21] Mark Dietrich (EGI) (Guest) (I'm just trying to move things forward!) like 1 [14:23] Mark Dietrich (EGI) (Guest) Bert, Tobias at least are sitting inside industry...
