### 1) IGETC (Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum)

**Purpose:**
- Designed for students who plan to transfer to either the University of California (UC) or California State University (CSU) systems.

**Structure:**
- IGETC includes courses from six categories:
- English Communication,
- Mathematical Concepts and Quantitative Reasoning,
- Arts and Humanities, Social and Behavioral Sciences,
- Physical and Biological Sciences,
- Language Other Than English.

- Some UCs, especially more competitive ones, have additional requirements or recommendations beyond IGETC.
- The Language Other Than English requirement can be met by completing two years of high school language or one semester of a college-level language.

- No foreign language requirement, which might be preferable for students who find language courses challenging or unnecessary for their major.

**Disadvantages:**
