# Species
During your time employed on the station, you may come across many species much different from your own. Not to worry, most if not all of them are harmless wage slaves, just like you are! The following is a short introduction to a few of the most common:
## Humans
Omnivorous, hairless apes hailing from nearly everywhere air and water exist. The most prominent natives of the Sol system, they make up a majority of the population in most areas the Sol Central Government holds influence.
- Humans have evolved to be adaptable in almost every regard, and can eat most foods barring those that are considered blatantly toxic to nearly any carbon-based life form, but they have developed a soft spot for sweets and junk foods.

## Felinids
- :cat: :cat2:
## Lizardpeople
Large humanoids resembling the reptiles of Earth with a noticeable lisssp. From some planet somewhere of some sort.
- They like meat, and can eat it raw, but they don't have the gut flora for digesting lactose, and they don't like grain either.
- Lizardpeople have a heightened tolerance to hot temperatures thanks to generations of slow adaptation to their arid homeworld, making them less vulnerable to ailments such as heatstroke, heat cramps, heat rash, and heat syncope.
- However, most members of the species are not at all acclimated to colder climates.
- Lizardpeople have adapted a slowed internal temperature regulation to conserve energy as a result of the arid climate of their homeworld.
- Some members of the species have digitigrade leg structures instead of plantigrade ones, incompatible with the common footwear of the modern era. Some crafty lizardfolk have been able to get around this by forcefully tooling certain footwear into a more compatible form factor.

## Plasmamen
A very strange, rare species made of plasma. They somewhat resemble a human's skeletal structure, but don't seem to share any similarities besides that. Rumors surround the origin of the plasmamen, saying that they are the resurrected husks of those who died in plasmafires, though that's nothing more than just a rumor... right?
- Plasmamen do not possess a traditional metabolism or need for energy from food. For some reason, however, many enjoy the texture of vegetables.
- Calcium is good for bones, no matter their composition.
- Plasmamen are inorganic, and as a result are unfazed by many things which normally adversely affect organic, carbon-based life, such as genetic damage and common viruses. Special strains of viruses are capable of infecting inorganic lifeforms, however.
- Plasmamen are totally immune to radioactivity and its adverse effects.
- Of significant note is their inability to survive unaided in an oxygen-based atmosphere: they ignite upon direct exposure to oxygen, and need plasma gas to breathe, resulting in many needing to work directly in the employment of companies with access to plasma in order to live.
- An atmospherically sealed envirosuit is standard issue from the employer to plasmamen working, enabling them to work in atmospheres with oxygen present. Standard suits come with a built-in auto-extinguisher along with a matching helmet able to endure the rigors of space.

[person dddd]: <> (\(WHERE THE FUCK DO PLASMAMEN COME FROM?)\(we could always just steal VG lore lmao\)\( i like the lore where theyre humans who got fuckin burnt in a plasma fire super hot one\)(when a mommy plasmaman and a daddy plasmaman love each other very much, the-\)\(SKELEOTN COCK IS NOT REAL\))
## Mothpeople
Big, fluffy moth-people. Despite the fact they're descended from common Earth moths, (likely as a genemodding accident) the general public isn't quite sure what they are. As a result, their origin and history is significantly disputed.
- Mothpeople enjoy common food items such as dairy, greens, and your scarf, though meat is quite toxic to them.
- Mothpeople wings are mostly vestigial. They are nonfunctional in higher gravity and low atmosphere, but are able to achieve basic propulsion otherwise.
- Mothpeople are vulnerable to all the things regular insects are: pest spray and flyswatters.
- Mothpeople have eyes more sensitive to light, offering incredibly limited vision in darkness. This however makes them more vulnerable to bright flashes, even through protective eyewear.

## Ethereals
Strange, yet fully organic people who naturally give off a soft light as a result of their blood parallel, liquid electricity.
- Though they can still eat, they cannot taste anything, though some of the species report citrus and caffeine to have a mild stimulating effect.
- They must charge an internal crystal through contact with electrical components or consumption of liquid electricity in order to survive.
- Notably, they lack biological sexes, and typically have no cultural concept of gender as a result, though individual Ethereals will commonly identify with a gender anyways, due to assimilation into various alien cultures.
- Ethereals are able to modulate the EM frequency of their bodies to shine different colors of light with a multitool.
- :flashlight: :battery:
[joseph matriarch]: <> (Speaking of culture, they have no culture, nobody knows where these shits came from, can we have some FUCKING lore on that \(that's a good question\))
## Integrated Positronic Chassis (IPC)
A generic name for any of the many synthetic chassis built to house a positronic brain and allow it to function in a similar manner to most humanoid organics, as opposed to the shackled and limited bodies of a cyborg or vessel AI. The chassis themselves are manufactured by a large handful of companies, with unbranded, third-party chassis being quite common as well. Much more is to be said on the positronic intelligences housed inside these chassis than the bodies themselves, as the nature of synthetic intelligence leads it to A BUNCH OF FUCIGN BULLSHITT
- IPCs are fully synthetic; unlike the inorganic plasmamen, they are 100% immune to all forms of genetic modification and infections.
- IPCs require electricity to survive, and all IPC models come with a built-in power cord implant in one of their arms.
- IPCs are heavily vulenrable to EMPs, with even one being enough to near instantaneously shut down one, and even violently blow off limbs.
- IPC chassis are fragile, as a cost to the human-parallel dexterity and form-factor that no other synthetic being has been able to achieve.

[zetanote]: <> (WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN THE PLURAL OF CHASSIS IS JUST CHASSIS it is pronounce'd differently though SHUT UP ITS A WIKI PAGE THEY DONT KNOW THAT)
## Humanoid Arachnids :spider:
- :spider_web: :spider:
## Dwarves :pick:

## Yuggoliths (Squidpeople) :squid:
Splatoon[a] is a third-person shooter video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii U, which was released worldwide in May 2015. The game centers around fictional characters known as Inklings—anthropomorphic squid that can transform between humanoid and cephalopod forms and swim through colored ink sprayed on surfaces using various types of paint-based weapons. Splatoon features several different game modes, including four-on-four online multiplayer and a single player campaign.
