**Subject:** ⚠️ Action Required: Please Prepare for Kubernetes cgroup v2 Migration (Starts August 13)

Dear SnappCloud users,

We hope you're doing well.

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve **platform stability** and enable **new Kubernetes features**, we are planning to upgrade our Kubernetes clusters from **cgroup v1** to **cgroup v2**. This change is aligned with the Kubernetes community roadmap, as **cgroup v1 is now in maintenance mode**.

### 🛠 What’s Happening?

We'll officially begin migrating to **cgroup v2 on August 13, 2025**, and the rollout will happen **gradually** across all clusters.

To help you test and verify your workloads ahead of time, we’re making a **limited set of nodes** available with cgroup v2 starting **August 7, 2025**. These nodes will be labeled with:

### 🙏 Action Requested: Please Validate Your Workloads

While most workloads will continue to work as expected, **applications that interact with system-level resources** may need some adjustments.

Some important compatibility notes to consider:

- **Java applications:**
Please ensure your workloads use Java runtimes that fully support cgroup v2:
- **OpenJDK / HotSpot:** `jdk8u372`, `11.0.16`, `15` and newer

- **Go applications using `uber-go/automaxprocs`:**
Use **v1.5.1 or later** to ensure proper CPU quota detection with cgroup v2.

To assist further, we've prepared a list of pods running incompatible Java versions across both regions. Please note that the list is not a definitive source.
We strongly recommend that you review and test your workloads directly to ensure full compatibility with CGroup v2.
