# Vida Nueva Worship Revamp

## Executive Summary

The entirety of this proposal can be summarized with these main information points:

- **Create 2 Worship Directors: Carlos & Emanuel** The overall responsibility is to ensure that the worship team follows the correct structure and nature of the songs. We would recommend Emanuel + Carlos to take on as Worship Directors.
- **Create a Media Director: David**. His main responsibility is to ensure the quality and production of our media content for our digital platforms and verify the purchases of music/media production equipment.
- **Create a Voice Director: Jocelyne**. Jocelyne has a beautiful voice. We suggest that the church would help pay for her singing/voice lessons to refine her talent and train others the proper technique of singing.

## Worship Directors: Carlos & Emanuel

### Why Worship Directors

Below are the reasons why we need the roles of the worship directors:

- Having one leader is not enough to cover all the responsibilities of the worship team. They should be split between these roles: sound/media, voices/choir, and musicians.
- Songs do not have structure when played. Musicians rely too much on hand signs, which is heavily error prone.
- Natural structure of the song is not followed and often replaced by hand signs.
- Worship members should be guided by the natural flow of the song, instead of hand signs.
- Worship members don't receive technical guidance/ mentorship from current leadership, thus preventing growth in music-technical skillsets.
- Technical music and structural feedback coming from experienced musicians is often neglected by leadership.
- There have been some purchases made for the worship team that were arbitrary and not discussed with the media director.

### Role/Responsibilities

The role of the worship director is expanded in these information points. They would be in charge of:

- Understand each song's melodies, chords, rhythm, and solos for every instrument
- Implement formal structure/nature of each song as a team by assisting each team member.
- Ensure the team understands their parts without the use of hand signs (unless during spontaneous sessions)
- Innovate the way in which we practice as a group and play live (i.e. learn to how to use the tablets from Faith)
- Work alongside with the Voice Director to create weekly song playlists each month.
- Research/verify purchases necessary for the worship team along with the Media Director (David)

### Best Picks for the Role

From previous experiences, the two current musicians that have a well-versed understanding in both music theory/structure and music equipment (i.e. pianos, amps, microphones, cables, etc.) are Carlos and Emanuel.

Combining their technical and musical expertise, they would be able to effectively manage the worship team and mentor each member in their instrument.

## Media Director: David

We recommend that David continue focusing and improving our digital content delivery and train others under his guidance.

He has proven to being a dynamic and fast-learner when it comes to digital media as well as delivering quality content to our platform.

In addition to expressing his interest and passion for digital media content, it is evident that he is leaned more on the digital media content compared to the drum kit.

### Role of Media Director

The role of the media director is to:

- Ensure the quality of the content and it's delivery to our digital platform.
- Provide training/guidance for new members who join the media team.
- Innovate/improve our content media through additional courses, training, equipment, etc.
- Verify purchases made for both the worship team and media team along with the worship directors.

## Voice Director: Jocelyne

We recommend to assist Jocelyne in paying for voice/singing lessons to refine her talent in singing.

She has proven to be a passionate and committed leader during her time. From an analysis standpoint, her strength lies in her beautiful voice. With proper training and guidance, she will be a master of her technique and be able to help mentor/train others.

### Role/Responsibilities

The Voice Director would be in charge:

- Training/mentoring other singers
- Work alongside with the Worship Director to understand the structure and flow of the songs
- Coordinate the choir voices to follow song structure
- Improve technique for memorizing songs for singers
