According to Chinese business newswire Caixin, more than 30 patients in Hubei Province have seemingly recovered from COVID-19, but continue to test positive, said Jiao Yahui, an inspector at the National Health Commission, in an April 24 interview with the state broadcaster.

In February, when it was clear that the outbreak was spreading, “Xi urged top leaders to enhance the country’s governance capacity for biosafety and to enact “a biosecurity law” at the earliest possible date,” according to the report.

This only enhanced the suspicions of those who believe the virus leaked from the lab.

Since that time, China has denied the US access to the Wuhan lab, according to US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo. The facility has come under increased scrutiny after it was revealed that the US government under the Obama administration funded research there for a number of years.

In addition, a world renowned Russian microbiologist claimed last week that the novel coronavirus responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic was the result of Wuhan scientists doing “absolutely crazy things” in their lab.

Furthermore, a University of Texas Medical Branch lab director who visited the Wuhan institute in 2017 says that it would be foolish to dismiss the idea that the coronavirus escaped from the facility, and that “Accidents happen” in such labs.

Footage from inside the lab, broadcast in 2018, showing scientists working on coronavirus in bats, has increased scrutiny on the lab even further.

According to a report in the Australian Daily Telegraph this week, the so called ‘Five eyes’ intelligence co-operative – agencies in Australia, Canada, NZ, UK and US, are all investigating senior scientist at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, Peng Zhou, with regards to the potential of the coronavirus leaking from the lab.

Bloomberg published a stunning piece on April 9th promoting the secession of California from the U.S., in an op-ed by Francis Wilkinson titled Gavin Newsom Declares California a ‘Nation-State’, which resurrected John C. Calhoun in a neo-confederate argument favoring nullification.

Bloomberg is part a strategy to prevent Trump from a second term by way of legal means (election), and has now brought to the fore the spectre of secession or nullification. This does not mean we should normally expect some announcement by Governor Newsom that ‘The California Republic is an independent nation-state ’. Yet amazingly, it has been almost verbatim said in this way.

The Bloomberg article details how California Governor Newsom has begun using that term and also related legal constructions in discussing how California will manage the coronavirus response on its own.

Imagine an alternate timeline where Trump denied there was a significant threat posed by the coronavirus and adjusted policy to reflect that. After all, the mortality rate appeared very low compared to the infection rate. Then imagine that governors Cuomo and Newsom behaved similarly to how we’ve seen them perform over the past month or so. In fact, their behavior makes even more sense in our hypothetical, alternate reality. But imagine if their punches could land because there was some semblance of a reality that could support the barrage.

Pre-coronavirus attacks on Trump as a ‘science-denier’ had much farther reaching designs than simply a manufactured public debate with Greta Thunberg over global warming. Remember that in the film Contagion it is deforestation that causes a bat to take residence at a pig-farm, where the novel coronavirus is born.

What happened as things played out? Bolsonaro stayed with his version, and was ultimately removed from actual power by the military. This serves as a critical reminder by itself of what our ‘alternate timeline’ may have had in store for Trump, if we consider the ramifications of California making bolder moves to secede.

Through his connections with Nowak, Epstein had Office 610 reserved for himself at Harvard Square. It was commonly known as “Jeffrey’s Office,” and he regularly met with the university’s top scholars there. He even had a key card and unlimited access to the building. This was against university protocol, but everyone seemingly looked the other way to accommodate the child sex fiend.

Governors and mayors across the nation have claimed that their emergency powers allow them to ban large groups during the coronavirus pandemic. They don't want groups gathering in malls, movie theaters or even churches, despite the constitutional protection of religious rights.

Now one official is moving into extreme territory, __demanding churches provide him with the names, addresses and telephone numbers of anyone who shows up to worship.__

The move by __Quinton Lucas, the mayor of Kansas City, Missouri__, already is attracting the attention of Liberty Counsel, which has been defending churches amid the coronavirus lockdowns.

Liberty Counsel founder Mat Staver noted Kansas City is requiring that churches "submit list of members and attendees along with their names, addresses and telephone numbers to city officials for tracking and surveillance purposes."

The Austin-American Statesman described the scene:

“In 1999, I was working in Fort Detrick… and __my job was to teach Ebola how to infect human cells__ without killing them. Ebola couldn’t infect human cells until we took in the laboratory and taught it,” she said.

She also exposed the corruption behind keeping hydroxychloroquine away from patients who are suffering with the coronavirus.

__“The game is to prevent the therapies until everyone is infected and push the vaccines knowing that the flu vaccines increase the odds by 36 percent of getting COVID-19,”__ Mikovits said, citing a study of military personnel indicating that flu vaccines cause a spike in coronavirus cases.

A University of Pittsburgh researcher working on a coronavirus project was fatally shot on Saturday at his home in Ross Township, while associate Hao Gu, 46, was found dead in a car approximately 100 yards away of what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot.

The researcher, 37-year-oild Bing Liu, was found shot multiple times in the head, neck and torso around Noon on Saturday. Nothing was stolen from the townhouse and there was no forced entry, according to the Post Gazette. He worked in the college's department of computational and systems biology at the Pitt School of Medicine.

A Port of Seattle Police Officer has been placed on administrative leave after refusing to delete a viral video reminding police officers that they don't have unlimited powers.

"I have seen officers around the country enforcing tyrannical orders; I was hoping it was a minority of officers, anymore, I am not so sure," said Officer Greg Anderson, a Special Forces veteran.

Anderson took to Instagram on Tuesday to explain that he will likely be fired for refusing to remove the video, as it is considered insubordination.

House Democrats are proposing H.R. 6666, a multi-billion dollar bill authorizing the Secretary of Health and Human Services to “award grants to eligible entities to conduct diagnostic testing for COVID–19, and related activities such as contact tracing, through mobile health units and, as necessary, at individuals’ residences.”

The __COVID-19 Testing, Reaching, And Contacting Everyone (TRACE) Act__ — what some appropriately note is filed as __H.R. 6666__ — provides $100 billion in grants distributed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to “eligible entities” so they can “trace and monitor the contacts of infected individuals, and to support the quarantine of such contacts, through mobile health units and, as necessary, testing individuals and providing individuals with services related to testing and quarantine at their residences.”

According to the legislation, recipients of the grant can use the funds to “hire, train, compensate, and pay the expenses” of individuals to carry out the tasks related to testing and contact tracing.

China's claims that the pandemic emerged from a wild animal market in Wuhan last December have been challenged by a landmark scientific study.

The Mail on Sunday revealed that analysis of the coronavirus by specialist biologists suggests that all available data shows it was taken into the market by someone already carrying the disease.

They say they were "surprised" to find the virus was "already pre-adapted to human transmission", contrasting it to another coronavirus that evolved rapidly as it spread around the planet in a previous epidemic.

Significantly, the study says genetic examination of four samples containing the virus from the seafood market to those taken from the Wuhan patient are "99.9 per cent" identical. This suggests it came from infected visitors or vendors, indicating "Sars-CoV-2 had been imported into the market by humans". The authors confirmed to the Mail on Sunday they had found no evidence "of cross-species transmission" at the market.

They cite a paper by Chinese scientists, published this month in Zoological Research journal that, after examining samples from infected patients, has also inferred the virus was brought into the market.

These new studies dovetail with another work by Chinese scientists published in the Lancet, which found only 27 of the first 41 confirmed cases were "exposed" to the market – and only one of four initial cases in the first two weeks of December.

The man, called "James" by one of the men, apparently called an ambulance because he had a cough. Upon reaching the hospital, the staff cornered him and verbally pressured him for at least 20 minutes to accept an injection, before pinning him and forcing a needle into his arm while he cries (off-camera). Video of the lead-up and audio of the medical assault was recorded by James's phone.

A first unidentified 'negotiator' in scrubs tells James, "The doctors talked to you. They did not feel like you have the capacity to make medical decisions based off their discussion with you."

When James resists, the man asks, "So you wanna make everyone sick?"

The second 'negotiator' asks James if he will "let them give you some medication." James answers no. "But you came to the hospital!" the man in scrubs retorts.

The men in scrubs ask James to get on the bed. He refuses, saying they can't make him get on the bed. "It [doesn't] work like that. You can't make me get on the bed. I am not a prisoner. I'm an American. This is a free country. I know my rights."

The group physically closes in on James, at which point he says he doesn't want to talk to them and asks for a lawyer "before you all touch me." He says he is not trying to hurt them, and places his hands in his lap. He tells the camera to see his hands are in his lap and he is not being aggressive.

While James's back is turned as he talks to the camera, the man who has been "negotiating" with him leans in and touches his shoulder. James warns the man not to touch him. "Get away from me. I want my personal space."

As the argument continues, the man's associates begin taking arm and leg restraints off of the hospital bed. James's assailant can be heard saying, "Okay, you're not giving me any option."

James replies that he "doesn't want any shots" and begins reciting the Serenity prayer. A woman in scrubs shouts "Get on the bed!"

"Please leave me alone," James repeats. The woman yells, "Not until you get on the bed!"

James asks the camera if anyone knows a lawyer, at which point the two closest men move in, grab him as he yells in protest, pick up his phone and set it face down. The rest of the video is a blurry shot of the countertop.

A struggle ensues. James can be heard yelling, "Leave it alone! I don't want a needle in my arm! I am not on drugs. I am sane. Get your motherfucking hands off me!" Chairs and tables are heard being shoved as James grunts and yells in protest.

"You're choking me," he says. "Help! This shit ain't right!" A man yells "Stop!" at him. At this point, James begins to wail and cry, apparently having been injected with the "medicine" he has been refusing.

It's a number that informed so many of our public policy decisions regarding COVID-19: 3.4 percent.

"While many people globally have built up immunity to seasonal flu strains, COVID-19 is a new virus to which no one has immunity. That means more people are susceptible to infection, and some will suffer severe disease," Tedros said during the briefing.

“Globally, about 3.4 percent of reported COVID-19 cases have died. By comparison, seasonal flu generally kills far fewer than 1 percent of those infected.”

__It turns out that means the death rate is only 0.26 percent, according to the CDC's own numbers.__

Now, does this mean the death rate is truly 0.26 percent? Of course not. Even now, we're in the early days in terms of statistics for the novel coronavirus. However, what's clear is that, when all is said and done, we're going to be nowhere close to the 3.4 percent originally predicted by the World Health Organization.

__This was predicted by plenty of people at the beginning -- including President Donald Trump, who was criticized when he said March 4 that 3.4 percent was "really a false number" and the actual death rate would be "under 1 percent."__

Comments left under videos or in live streams that contain the words “共匪” (“communist bandit”) or “五毛” (“50-cent party”) are automatically deleted in around 15 seconds, though their English language translations and Romanized Pinyin equivalents are not.

The term “共匪” is an insult that dates back to China’s Nationalist government, while “五毛,” (or “wu mao”) is a derogatory slang term for internet users paid to direct online discussion away from criticism of the CCP. The name comes from claims that such commenters are paid 50 Chinese cents per post.
