# Easy database websites for VIB researchers

Dear Alex, Geert,
I submit this proposal to you for your perusal as a request for the time and engineering resources to persue it.

## Introduction
This proposal aims to solve two problems at once:
1. VIB researchers often wish to build "database" websites [1,2,3], and
2. VIB bioinformatics core expends significant effort building such websites

~~The decreasing costs of the whole-genome sequencing allowed genomic databases, filled with high-quality data, to thrive.~~

The VIB bioinformatics core expends a lot of energy building "database" websites with limited or no value to VIB researchers not involved with the associated publication.
