# The Land of Hope Definitions of Law

The Land of Hope is a where we enforce justice. The Emperor, Mayor, and Sheriffs are all responsible for upholding the law.

## Laws
### Petty and Grand Robbery
Petty Robbery shall be defined as robbing or taking an item/items without permission that amounts to **less than** one-hundred-fifty (150) dollars in local currency.
Grand Robbery shall be defined as robbing or taking an item/items without permission that amounts **to or more than** one-hundred-fifty (150) dollars in local currency.
Ores and minerals (such as diamonds, iron, gold, etc.) shall be worth a total of over one-hundred-seventy-five dollars. Any item that has been made with minerals will increase by twenty-five (25) dollars.
Stone, wood, and other materials shall be worth fifty (50) dollars. Any item made from these materials will decrease by ten (10) dollars.
Enchanted items of any kind will increase by one-hundred (100) dollars.
Additionally, robbing while having the owner in your presence will justify murder.
Petty and Grand Robbery shall be considered **high-felony** crimes and will result in jail time or a sentence to death and seizure of personal belongings.
### First-Degree, Second-Degree, and Justified Homicide
First-Degree Homicide shall be defined as killing someone with an a plan and intent to kill.
Second-Degree Homicide shall be defined as killing someone with the intent to kill but without a plan.
Justified Homicide shall be defined as killing an individual in self, third person, or property's defense, or in the act of carrying out an order from the government.
Homicide shall be justified if someone illegal enters a persons property without the proper authority. Homicide will be justified is a person takes any belongings without the permission of the owner.
First and Second-Degree Homicide will be considered **felony** crimes. Justified Homicide is not punishable.
### Involuntary and Voluntary Manslaughter
Involuntary Manslaughter shall be defined as an accidental homicide.
Voluntary Manslaughter shall be defined as accidental homicide as a result of reckless behavior.
Involuntary and Voluntary Manslaughter will be considered **felony** crimes.
### High-Treason and Treason
High-Treason shall be defined as anyone who complies and assists enemies, especially in war.
Treason shall be defined as anyone who complies with enemies.
High-Treason will be considered a **felony** and Treason will be considered a **misdemeanor**.
### Vandalism and Breaking & Entering
Vandalism shall be defined as damaging one's or the government's property without permission from a proper authority.
Breaking & Entering shall be defined as damaging one's property to trespass.
Vandalism and Breaking & Entering will be considered **misdemeanor** crimes.
### Burglary and Trespassing
Burglary shall be defined as entering one's property illegally with the intent to take belongings. This can be an additional charge to Petty and Felony Robbery.
Trespassing shall be defined as entering someones property illegal for any reason.
Burglary shall be considered a **felony** crime and Trespassing shall be considered a **misdemeanor**.
### Battery, Assault, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Battery shall be defined as the act of touching someone without their consent.
Assault shall be defined the act of attempting to touch someone without their consent or threatening someone with a deadly weapon.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon shall be defined as the act of touching or hurting someone with a weapon that can cause lethal harm.
Battery and assault will be considered **misdemeanor** crimes while Assault with a Deadly Weapon will be considered a **felony** crime.
### Subjugation
Subjugation shall be defined as the act of forcefully taking over the government.
Subjugation shall be considered a **high-felony** and will follow with a travel-ban and sentence to death. Beware leaders! You have been warned.
### Other
The Emperor, Mayor(s), Sheriffs, and other law enforcement reserve the right to arrest you for anything deemed necessary. All criminal charges can be tried in court.

## Enforcement and Jurisdiction
### Land of Hope Emperor
The Land of Hope Emperor holds the highest authority in the nation. They hold the authority to criminally charge anyone and pass laws. Additionally, they have the ability to VOID specific laws in certain situations.
### Moyasu Mayor
The Moyasu Mayor, Capital Mayor, or "The Mayor" hold a high authority in the capital and the settlements occupied by the Land of Hope. They have the ability to pass new legislation and executive orders regarded the state of the union.
### Assistant Mayor
Right hand to the Mayor.
### National Sheriff's Office
The National Sheriff's Office ("NSO," "SO," "SHERIFF'S OFFICE") is the national law enforcement. Due to the nation being so small, there will be two sheriffs and the possibility of deputies. They have the authority to arrest anyone other that occupies the nation. They are tasked with protection against tyranny and crime. They will also act as a "national guard" during times of war.
The SO can work with the legislature (EMPEROR, MAYOR) to pass new laws.
### Diplomatic Immunity
No one shall be subject to diplomatic immunity, you must follow all the laws.
## Legislation
### Plot Protection Act
The Plot Immunity Act is an act in which you can defend you plot with deadly force. Anyone who forcefully enters may be met with deadly force.
### Lethal Justification Act
An act in which a member of the nation may lethally attack someone for crimes such as assault and assault with a deadly weapon.
### Tyranny Protection Act
Anyone who attempts to forcefully take over the rule of the Land of Hope will be met with deadly force.

## National War Laws
Murdering a national or local government official shall be considered a war crime.
Attempting to overthrow the government shall be considered a war crime.
During war the following crimes are considered legal:
1. First & Second-Degree Homicide
2. Assault with a Deadly Weapon
3. Battery
4. Assault
5. Trespassing
6. Breaking and Entering
7. Vandalism
8. Voluntary & Involuntary Manslaughter
Please keep in mind, these are only for current citizens that are deployed in the war.
